If Bale is certain to go, then can we please just get this done asap, I can still see this being un-resolved by time we kick off vs palace.

I'm gonna say it...

If we get what is mooted in the press for Bale, and it's reinvested, we will be a stronger unit than if we keep him.

If we bring in another 3 top class players, and lose one through injury, we will still have 2 of those top class players in the team.

If we keep Bale and invest little more in the squad and he goes down with injury (which he WILL at SOME point in the season), we will struggle without him.

I'm also itching to see some other members of the team take some responsibility and think that's more likely to happen without him.

This. This. And some more of this.

Stronger on paper (potentially), weaker on the field in terms of cohesion.

By time we get Bale situation sorted and we have lowballed clubs for players; it will be coming up to deadline day and the Arse game will be looming.

This is fucking up the start of our season; we've played the situation totally wrong if the plan was always to sell.

We'll be a force to be reckoned with?

Well, we better get a move on because the season starts in two weeks, we have a tonne of injuries, players to bed in, players who want moves and our star man wanting out.

I'm sorry but it's a bit of a mess. Our squad needed a few small tweaks not another overhaul. As Mourinho always said, the key to a title challenge is to get off to a flying start.

I've been trying to be confident but 3 more in before the start of the season? None of them are going to bloody know each other!!

It's the mixed messages doing me in. Appreciate the info JJ (and sorry to hear you're jacking it in) - it's just hard to process how someone can be so confident that we'll likely lose our star player yet STILL be so frickin' awesome!

By all accounts Bale and Barnett only starting throwing their toys out of the pram in the last couple of weeks. Everything was good before that and we had no intention of selling.

At the moment our whole team is injured or unfit. Do note we basically missed out on champs league last season because of our poor start to the season. I don't want ground hog day to hit us again. Bringing in 3-4 new players along with soldado, paulinho, chadli will take too long to come together but frankly we don't have any choice in the matter really.

Barely any of our first team have has a decent pre season so we will never hit the road running

Well, the two posts of info in the RO today by Jasper and the other guy. I've got some info on the whole situation. My stance stays the same on the whole Gareth saga, I just have a bit more information on it all.

I won't be able to post it until tomorrow morning, I just need to check with someone that the info I post won't implicate my new contracts, and that someone at the club won't get in the shit, since literally only 4 people including myself know this. It's all very fresh at the moment, but will probably be filtered down to the media in a few days.

As I said, I stick with what I've always said, and the information I received today is far from bad news.

P:S - I'm not slating anyone info.

Cheers

I just got one question to the ITK's and JJ, if Bale was to leave how much would we invest of it on top of what we have spent now?

We are going to be very strong this season and really be a force to be reckoned with.
Sorry but i do know what is happening with Gareth currently as of today and a load of crap being spoken. I appreciate all the other ITK's passing on info but you really have to take with a pinch(like mine) as you dont know how far they are from the source and who is telling their source. What i can guarantee (this is why i'm retiring)that they arent as close to the actual story as me. I dont mean that in a derogatory way at all its just a fact.
I personally really hope this all falls over and we get to keep Gareth however its just not the case unfortunately at this point in time.
I wont comment either on why AVB is saying something different.
Either way its going to be an exciting season for us IMHO.

If Bale does leave, which is looking likely, how quickly, in your opinion, will the Bale deal and our subsequent movement take? Time is ticking and we already have quite a few new faces to bed in. Would be nice to see Lamela and Bernard come in if we sell Bale but maybe that's asking to much.

I think the whole 'pre-season team gelling' thing is slightly overstated. how much are our players going to have learned about each other in this pre-season? How well each other performs in a low-risk situation? Players do not perform in pressure situations as they do in pre-season friendlies. You'll only see what the team and each individual player is made of when the chips are down.

As long as we actually have the players in before the season starts then I think good players can play with good players. How many of the Brazilian national team actually play club football together? They beat a team in Spain made up of basically Barca and Real players who know each other very well.

I honestly think Gareth will be here come the end of the transfer window. This deal just seems too complicated to complete from what I read and clearly the valuation of the player by Madrid and spurs are miles apart. Even if they do offer near to what Spurs want I can see it being structured in such a way that wouldn't appeal to the club, like a few ITK's have said. All in all this deal seems really difficult and due to that I think we will be singing Bale's name for a long while yet. Also I don't buy this whole "Avb has no idea what's going on" He's the god for saken manager of the first team, ofcourse he'd know how far down the line any potential transfer involving Gareth would be, so I don't believe all this "AVB doesn't know" stuff that is often posted, also in regards to avb having limited to no say on targets I don't believe all this stuff either as he clearly does, we have seen it this season. He clearly wanted Paulinho, got him, he obviously wanted Villa, as he said he even tried to get him at chelsea, we went after him strongly and failed, he clearly wanted Soldado, Soldado even said we tried to sign him last year, we got him. I just find the thought hilarious of AVB being on the training pitch one morning and some player walks up to him and he's like "Good morning, and you are?" If avb says Gareth isn't for sale at any price and they have reiterated this to Madrid then I believe him 100% and believe he is more ITK thanwhat others have been suggesting.

Sounds like a marketing deal that would imply he's staying or something - New contract (idk why you would be privy to that though)

Hopefully you can share as sounds positive!

May only be a friendly but take our game vs Sunderland in a swimming pool. Sunderland started pre season a couple of weeks earlier than us and what a difference it made. We were nowhere near their standard and they have a whole team of new players

It's more learning the tactics and system for me, not so much having an understanding with the the players.

I'm just getting nervous I guess as this seemed such a promising window, 'the one' where we would really kick on.

Whilst it's slightly different in that we're targeting class players, it has an very similar feel to it doesn't it?
