It sounds like he was going from SFO to Seattle. Which would leave the Seattle Sounders. I am honestly so confused by all of this. I would think Dempsey is still a few years away from going to the MLS (where old players go to retire).
Nightmare connection, I had to wait 8 hours overnight to get to Seattle from SFO.

why would Dempsey fly through SFO? seaTac is an international airport and at the very least he would go thru NYC with loads of directs.

#dempseywatch

so people are tracking flights and see if they can greet him #insanity

the american soccer community is gonna have a long hard look at itself if this happens.

it's not too strange for connecting flights to go through SFO. especially if the booking was made last minute and that was the only flight he could get. SeaTac is pretty small and surely SFO has more flights to London

Regardless press over here is buzzing with Dempsey rumors. I'll let you guys know if I hear anything.

So now they are saying he might be getting on a flight to L.A. where Everton play their next match apparently. It's unsubstantiated of course.

I don't understand all the stick Americans get for supporting Dempsey. I agree that he isn't a good fit for Spurs and it's best for him to move on, but a part of me will miss him. He's a hard nosed player that gets the job done for both club and country. He will never be the most technically sound nor the prettiest player on the pitch. He will however find the right seam or make the right run to finish an en easy chance. I'm proud to support him and would venture to guess every country has players with qualities similar to CD that are just as fervently supported. Just my opinion...

Someone brought up an interesting point elsewhere, but Everton are currently in San Francisco for the International Champions Cup where they played Juventus last night. The pictures taken of Dempsey tonight were are San Fran's Airport. Perhaps their officials are there and he went to meet them in San Francisco to discuss personal terms? I really don't think he's going to the MLS and Everton would be a good fit for him, actually. They've got a history of bringing on Americans and Tim Howard is currently there.

It'd just be weird to send him there just to negotiate unless we are looking to deal him quickly as we have other things in the pipeline. This is essentially me thinking out loud.
Agreed, I can see Dempsey going to Everton, but it seems a long way to go to speak to their management when Skype is available.

Do we still have that "partnership" with the San Jose Earthquakes? That would make sense if he's been spotted at SFO. It's the closest international airport that has flight from UK and Europe and only 30 minutes drive away from Santa Clara. As someone else suggested (Moomin?) Portland Timbers are a short flight away and they have a designated player spot open. If he wants adoration and the rarefied air of football atmosphere which is almost unheard of in this country, Seattle Sounders would be the team to join. They have awesome fans!

On a different note, i would like to thank you Snarf for being a fantastic poster on this forum. Without you I wouldn't have a clue who or why many of the players we are linked with are any good or what they offer. I bow to your superior technical footballing knowledge!

Di Maria has looked excellent tonight in Madrid's friendly. Scored the game's only goal and has created three clear cut chances for Ronaldo, which he's missed. It doesnt seem like he fancies a move to us, but he would create loads of chances for Soldado.

or we could promote Harry Kane / Souleymane Coulibaly....we do need a new Jenas-is-useless/Hudd-is-too-slow discussion topic after all
I would prefer another wide forward..... this will give Andre more options. I look at Citeh front man and the fire power is just wow.

Jovetic, Dzeko, Negredo, Aguero

Don't we already have that with Nacer Chadli, although I think the club has already sorted out our business for the Forward line already

Chadli is a good signing.... I was thinking along the line of injuries.... hence I dont want us to have not enough striker again. Remember we are suppose to sign 2 strikers. Chadli is more of a winger I feel.

Isco's pass on their 2nd goal was ridiculous.

Hi Agr,

To answer your question, yes i have got things wrong in the past, i have been informed of stuff that hasn't happened or has completely changed, nothing however has been been made up which is a different conversation!

That is the risky business of passing on stuff you can be a hero 1 day and look like a complete tit the next. So when you receive ITK on here etc you should always play the ball and not the man . Its a bit too risky for me now that's why after this window i will be hanging up my boots. I know i have said that before this time its for real.....
Hi JJ

If Bale goes then you will yet again confirm your status as king of the ITK's. Its quite obvious you get your info from high up and we often need a does of reality from you. For that reason, on behalf of all on SC, we would beg you not to hang up your boots. Appreciate you need to be careful, so we have the goat to help that?

Without your info last night the SC members would all be 100% convinced he is staying and they would have false hope. At least with one dissenting voice, a trusted voice at that, people will keep their feet on the ground.

Personally i think, IF Madrid meet out valuation, and IF we sort the replacement we want Bale is gone. But i really have my doubts if Madrid can afford what Levy wants......UNLESS Ronaldo is leaving this window?? I think that might be whats going on
