I think the term you're after is "merkin"
Quality post though.

Merkins are also considered the lesbian equivalent of a beard, as in a straight man who dates a lesbian so she can show up to dinner with the rents and look like she's trying not to disappoint them

Considering that nearly every positive ITK leads to a large outpouring of homosexuality, I thought I would avoid confusion ;)

Maybe he wasn't so much fuming as disappointed? I know things are passed on in good faith and all that but its so easy for things to get blown out of proportion due to the use of one word. Especially when its a situation such as this and people are desperate for info and a throw away comment that could have, if perhaps been thought of for a couple of seconds more, would have given a more accurate account of the demeanour of Bale and the word used, in this case fuming, might have in fact been used to describe him as actually being disappointed then this might have have been more appropriate description of events.

No he was fuming! I can't go into too much more detail, but disappointed doesn't come close. Personally i don't care how he feels! I just want DL to stand firm with his decision.

That massively contradicts Mystery's info about him being delighted with our new signings and happy to stay.

Hopefully he has had a change of heart since that meeting as it was a week or so ago IIRC?

Wonder if that Siggy bid is from that German club that were apparently sniffing around in update 209 from Rodger. Perhaps Hoffenheim think they can get him back, I think I read somewhere that he was voted fans favourite when he was there in 2011.

Oh yeah, first post, hi all :).

As i said earlier mate... I hope Mystery is right. Maybe he has had a change of heart since the meeting... I have no idea! I do know how he reacted after the meeting and what he told another player. I can't share that on here. Sorry.

Okay. ITKs are always wrong at least once. Transfers are very complex and typically fail at an early stage but occasionally fail at a very late stage. This sucks, but it's not something that should be held against them.

If they are wrong a lot....like way too much.....they get found out and are then considered litigious nightmares by Rob

So just accept that they are going to be wrong. You can hate them or love them. Your choice. Just keep it to yourself or learn the beauty of PM's. But just ignore the ones you don't like.

Also, this -> "ITK XXXXX is the best one to me"

Stop it. You won't get to make out with them because you said that. Otherwise it leads to these silly, "but so and so said this" or "he got this wrong" arguments.

The reason there is a no bashing rule is because we lose ITK due to pissy internet posters who delight in calling out confirmation bias. Whuptedoo.

I don't know about a lot of you, but I make mistakes all the time. And I study CANCER. So seriously, an ITK fucking up a Diarra call.......not a big fucking deal in the grand scheme of things.

So if you are determined to be here and stay here, try to just accept that ITK is sometimes right, sometimes wrong.....but always entertaining.

We are all here for different reason. I'm here because it's fun. A lot of you have done your best to make it anything but fun this year. I don't know why and I don't care. But it's going to stop.

You're not going to win this. I love this site too much to let it be taken down by a cohort of jag-offs and unlike you I have the smartest and sanest posters on my side (and most of them tend to be moderators....the secret is that their sanity and intelligence is why Rob trusted them to be mods). I am going to make it fun again. So suck it.

Well thats A&C 's opening statement for tomorrow sorted... Fecking winner. Being saying it too. But this was put better.

I have no doubt that you pass your info in good faith. I just hope the Soldado signing in particular has helped persuade him in staying. Both Journo and Mystery say the info they posted today was received last night. So, maybe he's changed his mind again in the mean time. Still am of the belief that he himself has no idea what to do, with a very young family, it's got to be hard going abroad completely and not seeing the parents/baby's grandparents every week when you can.

Calm down... I'm just asking to know if we should put your statements in the RO.

No. Sometimes the mods/ITK relationship is purely heavy petting. A&C doen't like the words "no", "stop", or "this sure tastes like Rohip...."

So in those cases, we don't put them in the RO. It's strange and confusing much like my attraction to Indonesian midgets.

But at this point, LLM Breezer and maybe one other are not in the RO (you can always PM chris to see who is good). But we don't tell them to suck a bag of dicks either.

Bale will have a lot of people in his ear, no more so than Barnett etc, telling him this is a once and a lifetime opportunity that might not come around again...bla bla bla. But that's balls IMO. If he carries on in the same vein this season the demand will only increase for him - and there is every chance of that happening in surroundings he's use to, and being in a stable environment that he knows and trusts.

Going to Madrid will shell shock the life out of him I reckon. I could see him really struggling there. Hope his family and those close to him are encouraging him to stay put for a while. He's still only 24 and has only just becomes a first time dad.

Not criticising this info in any way.

HOWEVER, if I go into my boss's office and he tells me there will be no Christmas hamper this year, it's very likely I will leave the office with a face like thunder and when my colleague asks me what's up I'll tell him that 'Old Scrooge-bollocks has stiffed us on the hams and mince pies... AGAIN. I want out!'

Will I be back in the New Year? Sure i will.

Not to drag this out. It would be off field issues that might cut short his stay there. Football wise, he'd fucking boss it, imo. I mean, it's the perfect league for him.
