Disappointing twist on Bastoni but really wouldn’t surprise me if this is further posturing (his agent maintaining face with the fans or more likely securing himself as big a wedge of any transfer fee as possible) and it will be back on tomorrow. If not, doesn’t sound like there is more we could have done and hopefully AC is content.

It’s all a bit strange with the agent citing 3 reportedly available players are all staying. It’s actually very plausible that Inter have told them they can leave due to their financial situation but they’re setting unrealistic terms for interested clubs. By the agent stating the players are ‘staying at Inter’ it puts the pressure back on Inter to stop playing silly buggers with us etc. Obviously they may actually be staying but something feels amiss with this whole situation.

Catching up on this thread from today. Not sure if I’ve missed something but isn’t everyone over-reacting to some agent quotes? Agents talk shit all the time? Not sure anything has really changed, let’s see how it plays out. He was never going to move before Italy play Germany surely?

Still very curious to see who Inter sell to raise the funds. Is Skriniar for real or just noise? Is Martinez available now if they’re going for Lukaku again? Very interesting and if it’s the latter hope we’re very much involved.

I'm not sure we did. £20m for a player with 6 months left wasn't too shabby all things considered.

Just seen that Bastoni himself has echoed his agents comments on insta. I would still say that anything can happen though. Clearly he WANTS to stay but that’s always been the case. Let’s see I guess…
