That ITK sounds the same as it does at this point every summer. (Not a dig at the ITK)

Quite deflating but is anyone honestly surprised?

I think there’s a big chance our business is done in terms of incomings.

It's not just us. Arsenal can't shift Pepe, Utd can't shift Maguire and I'm sure there are plenty more. Players on high wages and long contracts from years ago are a problem for all except those with dodgy Saudi connections.

At this point, Atletico Madrid needs extra funds to meet Tottenham's valuation for the Pierre transfer. They've suggested Felix to Tottenham, but Felix prefers Barcelona. Notably, Tottenham has had a longstanding interest in felix.
Ange emphasises his preference for players who truly desire to join the team.

I can see a near deadline day deal if this were to happen. unless Barca do a Fati felix swap I can't see how Barca could afford him. I would personally love Felix.

I think Felix is going to be left disappointed if he’s pinning his hopes on Barca. They wanted Neymar and Xavi isn’t wild on the idea. Plus they are still struggling financially. Talks of a Fati partial swap have been doing the rounds, also him being available for a €17 mil loan. I rate Felix and I actually understand why he would want a move to Barca as they have a way of telling a player they really want them even if the manager doesn’t, also they are Barca and isn’t really a slight on us if a player wants to wait for them. But i really don’t see him ending up there but I also don’t see him coming here ether. Would be a good signing tho if he actually wanted to come. And that’s forgetting the Porro situation.

The fact Chelsea didn't buy Felix sets off alarm bells for me. Maybe we can help Barca secure Felix by taking someone like Fati off of their hands, potentially with a bit of help from Alemany? We then get a new winger and a fair price for Hojbjerg.

I know Fati is a big risk injury wise but seems in good nick currently and I've seen a lot of Barca fans hoping they keep him (certainly in preference to Ferran Torres) which is often a good sign. His potential pre-injury was sky high.

For the price quoted for Felix you could probably get Chiesa and Fati and just hope at least one comes good!
Pretty sure Chelsea wanted an option in the loan contract but Atletico refused. there was something about keeping him in case the next manager wanted him (assuming Simeone didnt stay any longer)

As much as he is undoubtedly talented, I just see Fati (if it was a choice out of the two) being a better fit for an Ange system and style of play

A couple of years ago, pre injury, Ansu looked destined to be the poster boy of Barça.

Now, this transfer feels high risk, high reward if everything pans out.

Given the current deadwood surplus situation, Levy’s stance on said deadwood and the need to recruit better in his end of season statement this type of transfer seems crazy.

Take any tedious Levy comments to another thread FFS. Its exhausting.

Thanks for the ITK WLB. Some concerns but clearly we are trying to bring in another quality attacking player - Orban or AN Other.
Lets hope we can back down on price for some of the outs. Problem is as we have seen - some players don't want the destinations on offer and we can't force them to move.

To add more context to the latest update the feeling I’m getting is that it seems more like a scenario where they're aware of our significant financial capacity and are attempting to generate profits. They're aiming to secure a player they desire by offloading Felix, who currently has a strained relationship with them. They might be leveraging our prior interest in Felix to their advantage. It's definitely an intricate situation.

Ange does have a favorable view of him and believes he could fit into the team. However, Ange wants to ensure that the player is also eager for the move. It's worth noting that he wasn't initially seen as a target this transfer window, but circumstances have created opportunities.

WLB
If he wants to come Felix is a really exciting player who would suit our new style of play pretty well but he's another LW/n.o10, also seems like he's likely going to Barca.

Absolutely no chance Fati is coming here. Felix would be tremendous but i can't see that either.

Cheers for the update WLB.

After Sunday’s game, it probably would be a good idea to switch things in attack a bit..

Something like Porro on the right, Feliz on the left, Porro’s wife through the middle.

BEN: spence making it akward to leave
Not surprised. He's had the chance of a lifetime and any move he gets now is a downgrade. If I was in his shoes I'd also probably be unwilling to leave after only a year.

Regarding Fati, if it's true he's removed his meniscus then I'd assume there's no way he passes a medical with us anyway so I wouldn't be too worried. If he comes then I'd say it's likely because the club and staff believe he can push on and move past his injury problems.

Interesting - I wonder what offers are on the table.

Like Porro, he's another than really fits the RWB role well, but not RW or the RB...which is obviously limiting
Surely he's young enough to be coached into the role though? Apparently Palace and Southampton are interested in him. Palace might be a good loan move for him.

I imagine “awkward” could also include expensive. His team will definitely be trying to extract as much money for themselves and him to go. In such a long contract Levy doesn’t have much leverage.

Guessing it's more where he goes to than actually not wanting to leave Tottenham.

Undoubtedly needs regular football again and beggars can't be choosers - if it's a top end Championship side like Southampton then so be it.

I reckon Fati is far, far more likely than Felix tbh.

Barca need money, he wasn't a key player for them last season and he's had serious injury issues so is no longer seen as this wonder-kid messi successor that he was a few years ago.

I think the question is more 'would Fati be a wise use of 40-50m?' rather than 'would he come here?' given how little football he's played over the past few years.

Is actually wanting to play football not relevant anymore. 🤔
Of course, but my guess is either he believes that he has what it takes to make it at the club or he's comfortable making good money at a good club for a few years and when the contract runs out he'll get a decent move anyways.

Thank god for our world-renowned medical team then.
