From COYS (Prof). I know some of you love a cryptic!

For those who like such things, a cryptic from Galahad:

"Hefty bid made for Saulsson Manorsdad."

Never heard of him.

Where's PeterS when you need him?

Non-cryptic from another source: "Still plugging away to strengthen the CB position. Aim is to get in one more; possibly two if we can shift Sanchez or Dier."

And one more: "Would like both a winger and a striker, however the former is considered a higher priority. Although we continue to work on it, our top target on the winger list looks like he's going elsewhere. #2 has a release clause above our ceiling valuation. So we're moving forward with options #1 and #3 in parallel. All of them Ange-approved."
@Nine while nine - get in here and translate this cryptic for us!

Interesting that the winger is considered more of a priority than the striker. Maybe not the best for this formation but I tbink we're fairly well covered in the WF positions with Son, Perisic, Solomon, Kulusevski, and even Gil and Sess when they're fit. Whereas Richarlison is our one true striker, unless we want Son or Scarlett to play through the middle.

I wonder if the feeling is if Gent are holding out for a big wedge on Orban - or more than we would value him at - then the sense is to bridge that gap to a more established striker in David?

Nico Williams has a release clause of £42m so this could be the alleged winger targeted.

This link inevitable from the beginning tbh, it’s been well documented we have been tracking him for a while. I think personally it will be a mistake tho. Never been convinced by him.

And can anyone decipher what’s being said here?

Does it mean we’re now trying for our number 1 striker target and our number three winger target?

The way it’s worded is confusing

I think it means we are still trying for our number 1 winger but it looks likely they will go elsewhere so we are also trying for our number 3 winger in case we can't get number 1 (as number 2 is too expensive).

Perhaps it's our primary option for a forward and third option for a winger

In a fluid attack for Ange I think he'd be a good fit but won't be the physical presence to pin defenders back.

I still would prefer Orban.

On COYS they think it is:

1. Doku
2. Williams
3. Johnson

Also going for David looking at the first part of the info.

Surely Johnson would cost more than Williams though. Perhaps it’s tied to moving Spence to Forest or something.
