These two have got to have a dart at this point. Just clear the front leg out of the way and smash it back where it came from.

Easy in hindsight but dropping Plunkett seems like this be the doing of England today. His form with the ball in the middle overs ... Rashid was handled for the most part by the Pakistani's in the four match series.

England dropped a bollock by not knowing what a good score was on this pitch and the bowlers let them down bar Moeen.

Shit day at the office.

It was Wood that came in though and he bowled well

As I said at the break, chasing a score like 350 you need a good start, it didn't happen so it makes the chase very unlikely. Cant expect one or two wickets to go and knock off 200+ runs at roughly 8 an over even though Root and Buttler had a good go at it.

England weren't good enough for the first two thirds of the game - bowling, fielding, then batting - and left themselves too much to do.

No but it was Archer that gave up masses of runs and he wasn’t going to make way for Plunkett to stay in. The decision didn’t really effect the game imo
Am I talking about dropping Archer for Plunkett? Of course it's affected the game, you ended up with Stokes and Rashid bowling in the middle overs when Plunketts been doing that job ...

He’s primarily a batsman.

Really? At #7? Well he bowls pretty well then.

In this year's IPL he averaged 27.5 with a strike rate of 165.

You don't drop an economical, wicket-taking bowler with that sort of very recent batting record unless you can replace him with someone better.

Goes to show, even with Englands gun batting lineup, you can't field that poorly and expect good results. Bit of a wake up call.

Then he shouldn’t be in the team, because his bowling isn’t consistent enough either.

His bowling in ODI matches is very consistent actually. He not a massive wicket taker but he is economical and plays an important role with the ball in the middle overs. I do agree that his batting has completely fallen off the chart in the last year though
