Why shouldn’t we go strong? (Insofar as we’re still strong at all these days.)

—————Gazzaniga
Aurier—-Toby—-Sanchez—-Sessegnon
————Winks—Sissoko
Lamela———Eriksen———Lucas
——————Son

Subs: Vorm, Jan, Dier, Skipp, Lo Celso, Dele, Parrott

I look at this team and “strong” seems a misnomer! lol..

I thought everyone was expecting JM to really go strong in the cups this season in the desperate hunt for silverware. I suspect he may play a stronger team than people expect
Absolutely I think we will be nigh on full strength.

I expect it to be the same as Southampton with Son in for Kane and Winks for nDombele

I think we will go strong too. They’re a championship team, not some division 2 team we can walk right through or struggle against like normal!

Winks and Sissoko together? Go and think about what you’ve just done! ??

Our injury list is staggering. It’s not the number of players but the quality of players: first choice goalkeeper and captain, only striker and vice captain, record signing and only CM capable of doing what we need, first choice left back. We do, however, have plenty of average players available at least.

Also anyone saying a son should be Captain, I would argue you don’t give someone the captaincy after they get sent off for acting like a petulant ****

He probably cost us not winning against Norwich and Southampton too given how important he is to our attack.

Think we’ll put out a pretty strong side.

Gazza
Aurier, Toby. Sanchez, Sess
?,?
Lamela, Dele, Eriksen
Son

Have no idea who will play in the midfield - Skipp and Le Celso? Not spoilt for choice and should be a bit of a clue for the transfer window perhaps.

I reckon he'll put Lucas up top and keep Son on the left with either Lamela, Lo Celso or Sissoko on the right.

We want Son to be more involved in the game and I think he can have more of an influence playing wide and dropping deep/cutting inside. Lucas on the other hand has been a complete liability on the ball recently so if he's isolated it's not such a big deal, but at least he will stretch them and give us a threat in behind with his pace and finishing (his best qualities).

Hope to see Skipp in midfield too but in reality suspect Jose will put out the 'strongest' lineup available.

Would like to see Skipp and Lo Celso in midfield, with Parrott up top. Lamela, Eriksen and Son behind the striker.
Wouldn't mind seeing Sanchez and Tanganga in defence, maybe with Cirkin getting a game too but don't expect that many changes.
Would also like to see a Clarke cameo!
Not asking for much...
