What is this obsession some people have with playing Taarabt as a starter. I just don't get it, yes bring him on as a sub when we have done the real hard work but, as a starter in this game I think would be a mistake especially in central midfield.

I believe the enthusiasm for Taarabt to start is inversely proportional to the number of times the person has seen him play.

Put plainly, the less someone has seen Taarabt play, the keener he seems to be to start him. I don't believe there are many on here who've seen him more than I have, and he still has no left foot, no heading ability and no defensive qualities. And he just doesn't have the talent to cover up for all those shortcomings yet.

Keane looked tired against PSV and Berba played 120 mins, so I'm sure Bent will start this game but with who is anybodies guess

I think the timing is right to give Bent a start.
I'd be suprised if he doesnt.......
And perhaps to blood in Taarabt.

I thought you only got a one-match suspension when you got to a yellow card suspension no matter how many cards you had.

An opinion doubtless thoroughly informed by studious viewing of all of City's games this season.

Hamann is as important to City as Richards and Dunne. He is the one that gives the rest of their midfield the freedom to go forward and attack because they know he will save their arses if they mess things up.

Not only that, he distributes the ball to their creative players very well, too. Elano and Petrov get all the plaudits, but Hamann has been one of City's most important players. Of course, if you're basing your judgement solely on MOTD, his contribution isn't at all obvious.

If he's out (and that remains a matter of confusion) and Dunne is out too, or unable to play at his best, our forwards really should be able to make hay.

So...is Hamann suspended or not? If so, that's their 4 best players injured/suspended. No excuses if we don't come away with anything.

Bloody hell if they have Dunne,Richards,Petrov and possibly Hamman suspended then we should expect a win here TBH! Anything less would be dissapointing.

lets not forget that with or without those city players our away record is very poor and city's home record is very good

Check BOF's WWW thread in the columns section.

Since we beat City in the League Cup their home form has been very average.
