Really would love to see 3-5-2 for this. Assuming Davies is still injured.

It's a squad game and Kulusevski and Richarlison to be used from the bench to bring on that energy could be a really shrewd move.

Also think we need stamina in the wing back positions to deal with their pacy forwards.

Lloris

Romero
Dier
Lenglet

Royal
Bissouma
PEH
Bentancur
Sess

Kane
Son

Subs: Forster, Sanchez, Perisic, Tanganga, Skipp, Kulusevski, Richarlison

Would like to see 352 as well, but with Kulusevski wide right. People will say he's not a wing back but ours are so far up the pitch they're more like wingers anyway. If Kulu plays there they'll have to try to stop him, whereas Emerson generally stops himself.

Yeah was thinking of that to...I just think if he's running back more he might tire and be less effective with the ball as a result.

We all know Royal's attacking limitations but his fitness levels are insane and he's a very robust defender.

True, but he's such a non event going forward that he's often in acres of space because nobody sees him as a threat. Kulusevski would certainly make them work, and with an extra midfielder the flanks would be pretty well covered defensively.

they won't be high up the pitch in this game though, it'll basically be a back five for a lot of it.

I like the idea of Kulusevski coming on and doing damage.

It's so much more than picking a starting eleven imo...its a whole game plan.

Whoever is in the team, wouldn’t it be f****g awesome if for once…….just once……..we actually showed up with some balls and a Go F**k Yourself attitude.

Anyway, I think 352, with Bissouma in the team is the way to go. He seems to relish playing against them

Lots of people proposing 3-5-2. Conte isn’t gonna have much time on the training pitch with the players after they come back from internationals. Arsenal are gonna press high against us. We need to be spot on and technically sound with our buildup. Makes more sense to me to go with system where which we have rehearsed consistently since Conte has arrived. Not saying 3-5-2 can’t work against them but it is safer to go with familiarity in a game of such high intensity.
Lloris
Romero Dier Davies
Emerson Hojbjerg Bentancur Perisic
Kulu Kane Son

not a fan of Emerson but can’t afford to throw Spence or Doherty in for this one, and Conte won’t..

if you are gonna play such an industrious mdf 3 you seriously can’t afford to play both Emerson and Sess. The technical level is just too low imo.

Bentancur and Bissouma have more than enough technical ability.

Fine, but with such a 3-5-2 there is even more emphasis on the wing backs as outlets. Emerson and Sess are just good not enough in attacking areas. Our goal threat would be basically non existent.

I get what you're saying but we have to think about limiting their attacks.

We're going to be doing a lot of defending.

Also Sess can contribute offensively.

But imagine having the option of bringing on Perisic, kulu and Richarlison when they're tiring.

Spence had Martinelli in his pocket when Forest beat them 2-1 last season. I know it won't happen but I'd love to see Spence play at RWB with 3 CMs.

If we want to get something from the game (we obviously do) then we need to sacrifice Kulu (as good as he is) and play with 3 in the middle.

Me as well. But didn't even bother suggesting it as its fantasy talk.
