We can't rest that many players... Worst case senario, we field a weakened team and get taken to extra time... If we're going to give some players a rest it has to be at half time when we've already won the tie...

Personally I wonder how much Slavia will be up for it on Thursday.

They didn't seem that bothered at home and went with a very defensive line-up and they strike me as a typical CL relegated team who isn't that worried by the UEFA cup.

if gilberto is fit, i wonder if ramos will give him a run out to see if he could make the final.

Slavia...

Cerny

Chimbonda Woodgate Kaboul Lee

Lennon Jenas Boateng O'Hara

Bent Keane

*Possibly Gilberto if fit.
*Would Rocha be fit enough to cover Woody?
*Perhaps Taarabt instead of Lennon.
*Look to pull out Woody, Keane and Jenas early.

Chavia...

Cerny

Hutton Woodgate King Chimbonda

Lennon Jenas Tainio Malbranque

Berbatov Keane

*Tainio to do a job on Fat Frank, unless JR thinks THudd is more important to the team.

If the unthinkable happens...

Hutton Woodgate Chimbonda Lee

What we definitely don't want is extra time in either game.

I never thought we'd hammer Getafe - I rarely think we're gonna hammer any team -

from a personal POV I would be sooooo depressed and sad if any player misses the final cos of getting injured on Thurs - however I'd be near tears and inconsolable if Keane Berbs or King missed it

however we can't rest all 3 - I reckon Keano is least likely to get injured so I'd start him and have Berbs on bench - King maybe in the 18 maybe completely rested

I suppose we could play 4-5-1 and rest all 3 - but that's high risk I reckon

We cannot rest that many players it is too much of a risk, we play our best team Thursday and then make changes if we are 2/3 up (on the night) and then play the same team on Sunday.

Liverpool V Barnsley anyone? Shocks can happen, lets make sure we do the job.

 Very good point. Hadn't thought about the possibility of extra time.

I have to admit that I am worried about Thursday night. With more than half a mind on chelski, we could easily slip up and lose our chance of UEFA Cup glory.

Going into the carling Cup after losing to Prague after extra time would not be good preparation.

Field a strong defense with Keane and Bent up front. Kill the tie off first, then rest players where need be.

berbatov because he plays at his pace is one of the few that can do both games adn maintain a high performance level in both.
Gunter Lee Zokora and Woodgate, In front of Robbo.

Team News, folks

http://tottenhamhotspur.com/news/articles/teamnews200208.html

Michael Dawson remains out for the UEFA Cup Round of 32, second leg against Slavia Prague on Thursday night. The defender picked up a hamstring injury at Derby County on February 9 and remains on the sidelined with fellow hamstring victim Kevin-Prince Boateng. However, reports from the medical team say both players are responding well to treatment and Juande Ramos insisted on Wednesday that 'Daws' was still a possibility for Sunday's Carling Cup Final.
Gilberto looks out of the Wembley showpiece, however, as he's not expected to return to training after a calf injury until next week. Ledley King has trained with the rest of the squad.
Alan Hutton is ineligible as his former club Rangers have dropped into the UEFA Cup as a third-placed finisher in the Champions League.
Elsewhere, long-term injuries Gareth Bale (foot) and Benoit Assou-Ekotto (knee) are both continuing their rehabilitation.

Vs Slavia

Robbo

chimby kaboul zokora ypee

lennon jenas o hara malbs

Bent Keane

with Robbo as the lone striker and both Bent and Keane playing monkey rush........

They won't know what has hit them, will attempt to line up to match us, and leave themselves open to attack!!

perfect...

Also, ask the chelsea olayers at the final if they saw our game on thursday, and if they say no, do the same thing to them too!

literally fool-proof
