The ship has sailed on Dybala, not the best form, and has too many injuries. The only way I see him joining is if we ship Son. I don't see a team with Son - Kane - Dybala. Don't do this to yourselves! :ROFLMAO:

First outs: Dier, Winks, Sissoko, Dele and miscellaneous others (Gazzaniga, Rose, CCV, Foyth)

Ins: Varane, Sabitzer, Dybala.

Second outs (dependent on above signings): Bale or Lucas, Vinícius, Sánchez if a good offer comes in.

Net spend (i.e. need for "investment"): Close to zero.

Increase in wage bill: Large, but we have significant headroom here (I think we were down to about 40% wages to turnover at one point!).

Increase in average squad quality: Massive.

Rewind a year and replace "Dybala" with "Bale".

If we do sign Dybala, however unlikely, then there’s no reason to make Vini‘s contract permanent. Also we have Scarlett for the cup games. Use the Vini money for other incomings.

Our biggest issues are in defence.

Spot on. We don't necessarily need a squad rebuild, we need a defensive rebuild.

Keeper, RB, 2 CB and a CM. This should be priority over attacking signings.

What do you think about the AC Milan CB Romagnoli?

His contract expires in 2022 so his value could be accessible and with the arrival of Tomori he lost some playing time.

He’s left-footed, we know how it’s difficult to find a CB with this feature in the market

Dunk and Milenkovic are two very underwhelming options

Not familiar with milenkovic. not seen enough serie A. Anyone have more insight.

I like Dunk but at the age of 30 and the money it will cost, its a no from me.

Seemingly looking like Andersen is number one target.

The emphasis on leadership for me points at Andersen and Dunk. Both captains of their current teams and the main organisers in defence.

I like the look of Andersen, feel he could work with both Rodon and Sanchez which has to be the main focus on any CB we bring in.

The news being put out about Sabitizer is also very pleasing, really good player in and out of possession. Also captain of Leipzig so another leader potentially being added to the mix.

You can see the focus on the mentality we are aiming for in terms of our targets, just hope we can shift the deadweight to allow us to bring in the targets.

I think I stated before you get Casteels, Andersen and Sabitzer in - That's 3 Captains of their teams this season.

You add Hojbjerg, Son, Kane, Bale etc and you are potentially looking at a dressing room of vocal leaders and lead by example.

Mr "Here We Go" is reporting that we still want Skriniar and believe that he is the perfect player for us. He also mentions that the price will probably now be £60mill+....never going to happen at that price so one to write off unfortunately

It won't happen because Skriniar is now starting at Inter, not because the price.

He’s looked amazing, in hindsight I guess we should have seen getting him as pivotal rather than a final piece.

I wonder if there is a chance for Ricardo Pereira this Summer. Contract is up in 2023, was out injured for ages and Leicester already have replacements at the club so not crucial to them anymore, portuguese and Jose likes him.
"Was out for ages injured"

Yeah sounds great ?

I know that no one in the last pages has mentioned GKs, so this seems a little bit off topic. But I wanted to say that, as a Wolfsburg supporter, Koen Casteels is a VERY GOOD option. Never watched Maignan tbh, but he needs to be really good to be better that Koen. I am not exaggerating. Very solid stopper. Not been very aware of his footwork, but he certainly makes CRUCIAL saves. Just felt that with the rumors going in the last weeks, people were overlooking him because the other guy is french and somehow looks a good deal. Wolfsburg is currently 3rd and that is only explained by a solid defence (TOTALLY enhanced by Casteels saves) and Borussia Dortmund, Bayern Leverkusen and Borussia Monchengladbach's pathetic season.

Also, as a Fiorentina supporter (yup, love to follow a team from every league) I used to be very excited about Milenkovic. He was very good wherever que was played (CB and RB) but in the recent times his form has dipped alongside the whole teams' form. He seems to feel like getting the fuck out of the club (wouldn't blame him, Fiorentina is a complete disaster and is not fighting relegation only because there are even worst teams there). Maybe his mind is elsewhere and therefore his regression, but he was once a very good prospect that even contributed with goals. Not the most exciting signing if it hypothetically goes through. Tbh don't have a single clue about how it would pan out.

One of our long-term striker targets Milik has a release clause of €12m at Marseille. I’d imagine we’ll be interested again this summer at that price.
