Rooney was good enough at 17. If you're good enough, you're old enough...and they’re both fully fledged internationals for decent teams.

Where did he say he preferred a back 3 what did he say mate? After the Trix ITK saying 1or 2 Midfielders and a LB and Herc saying whispers of Poch has a preference for 3 at the back and Rose would struggle to pass a medical I wondered if,
Poch has decided to use Dier at CB next season (he might be more willing as he’d have 2 years to nail down an England spot in that position before euros).
With 3 at the back a more attacking left wing back may be required which would seem to fit Sessegnon well, Davies could be the left of the back 3 if Jan is out/rested.
The 2 midfielder purchases could then cover Dier and maybe a sissoko upgrade (I don’t want to contemplate losing Dembele right now!)
The odd exception proves little, the vast majority of teenagers have not developed their all round game or physicality to play for a top 6 prem side.Rooney was good enough at 17. If you're good enough, you're old enough...
I agree, but have you watched De Ligt play? The odd exception proves little, the vast majority of teenagers have not developed their all round game or physicality to play for a top 6 prem side.
I haven’t, guess I was responding to the general point. Didn’t notice that you were talking about a specific player.I agree, but have you watched De Ligt play?
He's Ajax's captain for starters.
It100% has to be quality over quantity this window. If we sign another CB or Am we might as well sell Foyth and one of Lamela/Son/Lucas.I'd be happy with Lascelles, he's an excellent defender, while Jay Rod might make some sense if we'e looking for a homegrown option to take on the Janssen/Llorente role of barely playing. Personally, I have no interest in us signing Evans because of his age and better options being available, or Zaha who's is ok, but won't offer value for his mooted price.
If De Ligt and Sessegnon happen though, and that 120m figure is true, there's most of it gone right there.
Especially of we get De Ligt which I really doubt, I'm sure we're interested but so is every other club in the world, with the big teams that can just throw cash at him I doubt we'll get him.It100% has to be quality over quantity this window. not a surprise at all as we have been linked to numerous "dembele replacement/successor", e.g. haidara, diawara, andre gomes (meh), kovacic ( )JJ confirming to me Dembele rumours true absolutely devastated. Hope we can sort this one out
Makes sense being HG & free but his passing is worse than Hugohttps://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/foot...-manchester-united-sam-johnstone-hugo-lloris/
Tottenham want Manchester United ace Sam Johnstone as Hugo Lloris back-up next season
Spurs are planning for the possibility of Michel Vorm leaving to look for first-team football next season
SAM JOHNSTONE is on Tottenham’s radar as back-up to Hugo Lloris next season.
Spurs are looking at goalkeeper options in case Michel Vorm looks for regular first-team football.
Johnstone has impressed after being loaned to Aston Villa by Manchester United, with his contract running out in the summer.
The 25-year-old will be available on a free transfer after SEVEN loan clubs during his time at Old Trafford.
He has been a regular at Villa Park this season but Premier League football is not guaranteed.
And he will face a massive dilemma if the chance to be No2 at a big club comes up.
Vorm, 34, has been understudy to Lloris during his four years at Spurs.
The Dutchman is also out of contract in the summer and can leave without a fee if no extension is agreed.

That's fine.
If he isn't fit enough to play for us anymore then better to go than just
But he’s had a good run of games recently and has played a big part in our unbeaten run ( before city match) would be a strange decision to let him go imo as I believe he has at least another good season in him
I know some will say they are largely happy with the squad and that "we don't need much." With increased revenue & player sales we really have an opportunity this season to have a great summer window.It100% has to be quality over quantity this window. If we're still after that quality of players then we really haven't pushed on. We shouldn't be competing with the West Hams of this world for signings. Rodriguez and Evans just screams mediocrity.https://www.independent.co.uk/sport...gt-zaha-evans-rodriguez-dembele-a8312111.html
Tottenham transfer plans in motion with Mauricio Pochettino set to spend £120m
It is understood that Jamaal Lascelles and Ajax’s Matthijs de Ligt have particularly impressed the club while Wilfried Zaha, Jonny Evans and Jay Rodriguez are also being considered
Mauricio Pochettino will have a budget of at least £120m to upgrade his Tottenham Hotspur team in the summer, as he primarily seeks players in central defence and attacking positions.
That amount will likely be boosted by the possible sale of Toby Alderweireld, creating that need for another centre-half, but the Argentine’s plans are already set and in motion.
It is understood that Newcastle United’s Jamaal Lascelles and Ajax’s 18-year-old Matthijs de Ligt - a former teammate of Davinson Sanchez - have particularly impressed the club for the defensive positions.
Pochettino also wants to give more unpredictability and depth to his attack, with Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha a long-time target. The relegation of West Brom could also provide opportunities for deals as Jonny Evans is set to leave for a cut-price deal, and Pochettino has previously worked with Jay Rodriguez at Southampton. The latter’s injury record may be an issue, however.
Spurs are meanwhile said to be relaxed about Mousa Dembele’s contract situation and the midfield position, and there remains the possibility that he will extend for another year although China is also an option.
