Not necessarily. Do you remember Everton's last hot prospect Jack Rodwell? Big money move to Man C and he flopped... he's now heading to the championship with Blunderland.

Other than moulding Barkley into a Dembele replacement I don't see where he fits in. We need another player to add competition in the middle but he's hardly an athlete and he's far from the brightest apple on the tree.

That "equation doesn't" add up

City were after Rodwell to fulfill their English quota, slightly different.

Being linked with Lanzini today. Good player but not sure where he would fit in. He is never getting picked ahead of Eriksen or Dele obviously, and not sure he can play deeper ( alongside Wanyama for example )

Mind you, it's a squad game and he'd get plenty of game time over the course of a season. Dele will be missing for a fair chunk of the group stage in the CL for example.
Lanzini would give us another technically great footballer, which will help at Wembley.

Would be very happy with Lanzini, always thought he was too good for Spam. He also comes across as a very clever player, would welcome him at Spurs.

Would rather use Harry Winks for anything Lanzini would offer.

I.ve always shunned the idea of signing Jay Rodriguez since his injury, but he seems to be coming back to his best. Could be a good option to cover Kane imo.

Not so sure, Winks' future lies in that regista position...If anything Lanzini is a threat to Lamela's place.

Either way, I'd expect us to spend most of our budget on Zaha if the ITK is accurate. Lamela after his surgery will be like a new signing hopefully (and I think he'd really exploit the extra space at Wembley too).

I suppose those of us who are into Zaha coming here have got to cheering on Hull today. Palace getting relegated would make it so much easier to chisel him out of there.

F*ck me every time a player is suggested Harry Winks comes up like he's the messiah of football

Can only apologise for getting behind one of our own. Perhaps we should bin him and buy someone whose name ends in i or o for 30m.

I think there's 0 chance they would sell to us, but £30m for Lanzini isn't too bad.
