Veljkovic has made 3 starts for Middlesborough so we can pretty much rule him out making any sort of impact for us next season.

the same way we could pretty much rule out bentaleb making an impact ... before he made an impact? no one knows how veljkovic would do, for all we know he's the next nemanja matic - he certainly looks enough like him. i'm sure arsenal wouldn't have bothered spending £12m on debuchy if they knew then what they know now which is that hector bellerin with his grand total of eight appearances at championship level is already the better player.

Is that any better Sir ?
Nope.

Like this:

I agree with you to an extent.. it does make sense to sign young players to develop, however you also have to look at what's in your own academy to develop & we have Oduwa coming through, if we sign players in there early 20's there just going to be blocking a path to the first team for him because realistically the plan for him must be a season or two on loan & then be involved in the first team squad & Pochettino has said he wants players who want to improve & learn regardless of age, Nolito has shown that & instead of been ridiculed as a cast off should be applauded.

I also disagree about been nowhere the standard required because regardless of wether he was mainly a Barca B player Barcelona don't sign players with poor technique, your also incorrect in saying he did not feature for the first team.. he did in his last season albeit very rarely but he was involved with the first team squad & might only have a handful of first team starts but he was on the bench a fair few times & they wanted to keep him. He was very good his first season at Benfica & then through injury & proceeding a lack of form decided to leave. You are right about him hitting form the last few years & he's 28 just hitting his peak years which again shows you the value of having a work ethic & desire to imrove.

I'd never question Thauvin's ability but he's a bit of a pissy footballer & don't see any cajhones about him & hits me as another moaning fenchman who thinks he's made it & we've had enough of them already imo especially if there going to be blocking the path of oduwa.. what message does that send out to academy players.. we need to strike a balance of signing youth & experience as there's no point in signing a player at the expense of a highly regarded academy player.

I find it interesting you think Nasri is a Exceptional player.. seems to me he's a bit of a flake & there's a big big difference in having exceptional ability & been a exceptional player.. I really can't remember the last match he was exceptional in, I can't recall him been outstanding in any game this season & he was always like that even at Arsenal he would play well for 3 months & then put his feet up for the rest of the season.. Top players are consistently good not just when they feel like it.. great ability but he is certainly not a great player

Ah ok.. I'll remember next time as couldn't be fooked changing it again but I have learned something today & for that I thank you.

Not sure if you are being sarcastic or not. Writing in paragraphs just makes it so much easier to read. When you are faced with a wall of text like the one you started of with a lot of people won't even bother to read it.

For me the key thing is not over doing it when bringing players in, thus leaving a path for our younger players to emerge. Essentially we should only look to spend money improving the first 11, which would leave plenty of room and opportunity for the young players to get onto the bench, and then if their good enough into the first team. We need to make sure we have a good mix of experience and youth.

So my question is, do we have any youngsters that are better than Mason and are ready to step in right now? I think most would say no, hence why we need to look on the market.

What we dont need to do is what we did under AVB, which was sign 23 International's and block any path for our youngsters. I have total faith that Poch wont do this, and when we have a youngster ready to come into the team Poch will look at doing that. Trying to force players in just because they are young, have some ability and happen to have come through our youth system is not the way to go IMO. What we'll end up with is a team going nowhere and the better kids getting picked off by Clubs that are actually doing something and showing some ambition.

You can't just not make signings and put youth into the team mate. Even Sherwood, who wanted to rebuild the team around youth said he wanted to sign experienced players last Summer so the youth can learn from them. He also spoke about certain players having the right mentality and Bentaleb being one of them. We don't know if the players you've been talking about are ready yet, only the coaching staff know that.

Gameiro has been phenomenal so far against Madrid, he would be a nice creative option for one of the wings.

What do you take issue with?

Wimmer is done apparently.

I think Poch may want another starting CB (e.g. Alderweireld), although I personally don't think it's that necessary

We still apparently want Schneiderlin, and there's been ITK about McCarthy

We've been linked with Konoplyanka and Mirallas for ages, and it's clear we need better attackers.

And Ings is clearly a target based on reports, ITK and common sense.
