Tottenham to bid for Panathinaikos’ Kapino

English Premier League club Tottenham are reportedly ready to offer €1.5 million for Panathinaikos goalkeeper Stefanos Kapino.
The 18 year-old shot-stopper is regarded as one of the brightest talents in the Greek game, having already represented his country at senior international level.
A handful of impressive appearances in the Greek Super League have alerted some of Europe’s biggest clubs and Tottenham are the latest to be added to that list.
Various Greek media outlets are reporting however that Panathinaikos won’t let Kapino go for a fee less than €3 million.
They are also ready to offer the player an improved contract that runs until 2016 in an attempt to keep him at the club.
Last year Kapino became the youngst ever player to represent Greece, appearing in a friendly against Romania at the age of 17 years and 241 days.
Meanwhile, Ghana international Quincy Owusu-Abeyie is set to arrive in Athens today to sign a permanent contract with Panathinaikos, after spending last season at the club on-loan from Qatari outfit Al-Sadd Sports Club.

Greece’s next goalkeeping hero: Stefanos Kapino

Calm, composed and consistent; three qualities which arguably haven’t been found in a Greek goalkeeper for almost 20 years.

At 6-6 he doesn't need to leap for high balls but might have problems with grounders.

I'm actually pretty happy to hear us linked with some younger keepers that can step up and take over the Friedel role. As much as we all love him, there's no telling just how long Lloris will stay here (hopefully for a long time), so having a guy who's not quite as green as an Archer/Vigoroux and not as seasoned as Lloris would be fantastic.

Heard of him a year or two ago, can't remember why. Think he was Panathanaikos' youngest player ever, which is saying a lot for a goalkeeper, whatever league the team is in. Think €3 million is worth a punt. Could offer him a summer trial a la Matthew Ryan from Australia. Similar age, think he was fairly well rated but nothing came of it.

We should have brought Butland, 3. 3.5mil
Doubt Butland would have been interested in coming to us, as he probably wants first team football. It's well reported that Begovic will probably be moving on in the summer which will leave the no 1 spot for Butland at Stoke. I like the idea of bringing ion someone a bit younger than Butland, so we can rotate loans with Archer.
