When Sayers got injured last season our U21’s performances got even worse. Would like to see him get some bench time and maybe a loan.

Sayers arrived as a left back, didn't he? Maybe we a shift to a back four in the first team we'll see him there more.
Sayers isn't going to be a left back. Its a similar trajectory to Super Jan. As his body has filled out he's lost some of his mobility but he has gained the physicality to play as a centre back.

@Lilywhite Rose have you seen much of Ashley Phillips? It feels like between him/Dorrington/sayers we are quite stacked at CB at the youth level now
I have seen him a couple of times for England U18 and U19 and been impressed. Him and Dorrington would be a terrific paring.

Phillips also played against us for Rovers U21s in their 3-2 win against us. Highlights on Spurs play.

Anybody going to see the development squad play Stevenage on 29 July. No tickets being sold by Spurs from what I can see on the website. Mrs is going uptown to see The Hamiltons in London with the eldest so thought I would poodle along. I didn’t want to be amongst the great unwashed ( they play in red and white) so anyone know how to get in the away end?

Think you'll be fine buying on the day, that's what I did for a friendly (albeit some years ago now) and their website suggests that's the way to go. Having said that, I just managed to add an away ticket to the basket... so try that?

@Lilywhite Rose Do you think with the competition we have at right back that Zach Simons might be quietly let go? I didn't think he was anywhere near to the standard of getting a scholarship but somehow he did (probably due to the relatively late departure of Meghoma & Amo-Ameyaw). I don't think he played a minute of football last season or even made the bench. Now he's something like fifth or sixth choice at right back as we've got Roswell, Morgan & Orr who can all play there comfortably as well as Black, Pele, Adekunle & Adelusi who have played that position before quite well. I haven't seen him involved in pre-season at all either.

You don't happen to have a team sheet?
This was the staring linev up, no idea if any subs have happened

Starting XI: Krasniqi, Black, King, Morgan, Rowswell, Hall, Akhamrich, Olusesi, Ajayi (C), Moore, Irow

Substitutes: Bloedorn, Arganese-McDermott, Lehane, Adekunle, Orr, Adelusi, Logan, James

In our defensive shape it was something like this
Spurs U18s.png

Once we got on the ball we switched into this sort of shape with a ton of rotation across attacking midfield.

I asked a parent of a player in the same agent group and the reply was “ He used to be class then stopped growing. A bit like Brandon Waugh” As you say, he never plays and has had a few injuries.

Phillips is ahead of Dorrington at England level, intact, I believe he is currently playing 1 level up.

I have quite a few friends who've are Blackburn fans (I grew up in Lancashire) and, if we get him, we should temper our expectations in the short term. He was given a run of games early last season (he was only 17) and it was very clear he wasn't ready for that level yet.

Would really like to see some European loans for some of our players this year. The likes of Dane and Troy, White maybe if we’re intending to keep him…maybe even the likes of Sayers, Austin or Whiteman too (I know they’ve both had Itnl loans already!)

I feel that League 1 and 2 have so much riding on them, 2 games a week, frequent managerial changes and systems that stifle their qualities in my opinion.

seeing players like Jared Branthwaite have a productive loan last year, even the likes of Sancho in the past etc…would love to see some loans to Belgium, Netherlands’s, Scandinavia, Germany etc would be great.

If nothing else, the personal development that comes from living away in Europe, cooking for yourself, taking responsibility, would surely increase the mentality of certain players.

we see far too many league 1 loans with 4 starts made in a 6 month span, some foreign loans with emphasis placed on their minutes and development would be best for everyone involved

Ange confirmed that Scarlett picked up a muscle injury and won't be involved tomorrow and I'll add probably won't be involved with the friendly in Singapore.

Dane Scarlett looks set to miss the second pre-season match of our Asia-Pacific Tour against Leicester City in Bangkok on Sunday (11am UK, 5pm local).

The young striker picked up a muscle injury in a training session in Perth, missed our Tour opener against West Ham and wasn’t involved in the squad’s Open Training session at the Rajamangala National Stadium on Saturday evening, local time.

Former Spurs schoolboy Johnly Yfeko is apparently impressing at Glasgow Rangers and could be getting in a chance in the first team soon. He was with us until he was 16 then did a years scholarship with Leicester before being released. He had a short spell with Southampton but was released again. After a few months out of the game he had a successful trial at Rangers and he seems to be progressing. Its always nice to see former Spurs lads getting a second chance to make it in the game.
