What's your thoughts on Will Andyiappan?

As I think we may have had a similar discussion on Elliot Thorpe years ago, but Will is impressing the FAW and I believe he is a rare ball playing left footed defender.

Seems to be the stand out defender of his age
I really like Will as a player. He’s tough and gives it his all. Be interested to see where he ends up as for Wales he plays LCB and for us he’s played either LCB or LB. Coaches at Spurs seem to really like him too. Hopefully gets a lot of minutes with the 21s this season.

Is this the age group below Moore and Olusesi? This thread is fantastic as we knew about the last two when they played up with the U18s. Do we have any other big time talents like this that would be scholars next year?
Yeh, he'll be part of the U16s this year. In the same group you've got England internationals Malachi Hardy, Luca Williams-Barnett, Shakil Nicolau as well as Ramell Carter, who we've talked about on here recently..

Anyone know what Ange is like with regards to bringing through youth?
Tbh I don’t think we’ll be able to fairly judge him on this this coming season when you take in to account the lack of European football and a currently bloated squad

Leicester could have done a lot worse than get Alfie Devine on loan

I think that would've been a great loan for Alfie, which is also a great loan for us, therefore I don't think Leicester would do us that favour. I think they would only take it if there was a buy option personally.

Thank you so much for the insight. Is this age group of ours considered as talented as the older ones in Moore/Olusesi, Rio Kyerematen/Donley
/Dorrington, Scarlett/Devine?

It’s a shame we lost the two lads to Southampton from the age group above Moore.

It’s not about doing us a favour it’s about whether they think he could get them promoted. Personally think it’s a big step for Alfie. Probably be better for him to go to a mid top championship club rather than a club with massive expectations of promotion.

What I do know is he likes the u21s to play in the same style as the first team but not in the u18s where he thinks players need freedom and learn different systems, tactics positions etc.

He regularly invites younger players to first team training and the main thing he seeks is to see young players learn something in every session, rather than expecting them to impress right away.

So anyone who knows our youth team well, who are the top 5 players who Ange will likely look to promote either because they’re the most promising right now or based on areas the 1st team squad is lacking in depth?

Also who were the 2 mason used in the game against Leeds and what positions do they play? Mason said those 2 are the perfect example of how a spurs academy player should play and train and behave.

the 2 used against Leeds were Matthew Craig and George Abbott.

Not sure how Ange sees it but my top talents in the academy are Devine, Moore, Dorrington, Donley (in no order). I dont see other players showing premier league potential. An honourable mention to Kyrematen though

The Spurs Official website has now updated and the Academy Year 2 players have moved up to the U21 player profile sections plus the returning Troy Parrott and Dane Scarlett meaning we now have 26 players listed in the U21s.

Time to get some loans sorted as that is far to many when you consider that does not include any of the 14 in the now academy year group 2 (Hall, Irow, Ajayi, Etc) or the new intake (Moore, Olusesi, Herbie James etc)
