So imagine the bench tomorrow will be - Austin, Oluwayemi, Cesay, Walcott, Omole, Mi. Craig, Ma. Craig, Lyons-Foster, White, John, Clarke & Markanday
Under 23 game on sat. Will he not take some first teamers just in case. No doubt he would prefer not to but we do need to beat these twice and Mura as well so that we prob go into last game decider at home to Rennes. If Rennes put a bagful in tonight v Mura they will go ahead on goal difference. Really need to win the group to avoid two legged play off to get in last 16.
Rennes do look a decent team.

i just hope he actually gets on but not with like two minutes to go or some nonsense.

Only if we're 4-0 up with 30 minutes left do I think he'll get some decent minutes, it'll be a similar situation as our last ECL game where unfortunately we needed Kane, Son and Moura to come on and kill the game off.

But have any of them travelled? I think the players that travel will be more likely to lose than be winning 3 0

Just caught up and saw who hasn't travelled. Sorry I was basing it on the assumption we were gonna send a strong squad as this will be a difficult game.

could be the first set of brothers to play for Spurs in the same game since 80's anyone know the last pair ?
John and Andy Polston.
Polston Brothers

John Polston and his brother Andy became the first brothers to play together in the Tottenham first team since 1912 when they both appeared in a game against Crystal Palace at White Hart Lane on 3rd March 1990. John was a centre half who made 27 League and Cup appearances and scored 1 goal but Andy, a full-back, made only that single appearance as a substitute. Spurs lost 1 – 0 to Palace.

John joined Norwich on leaving Spurs where he was a regular in their League team. Andy played for Gillingham, Cambridge and Brighton after leaving Spurs.

I do not think we had a set of brothers playing in the 80's.
The only brothers I can recall being at Spurs at the same time were Glenn and the late Carl Hoddle but I don't recall Carl ever playing any first team minutes for us?

John Polston useful centre back left to Norwich as so many seemed to Crook Bowen and Culverhouse come to mind - and his brother Andy I think he only played once that was as a sub

Think you're right, Only other brothers on the club books back then I can remember were Ian & David Culverhouse (Ian 2 games, then Sold to Norwich, David no 1st team games sold to Dagenham & Redbridge) and then In the 90's/00's Luke & Neil Young (Neil No games sold to Bournemouth, Luke 76 games Sold to Charlton)

And what is the value of Binks, pray tell. Started one game for Bologna after a few games in the MLS.
You lot constantly whine on about youth players not getting games. Yet do not mention the fact that Skippy , after a years loan, has come back and is now a fixture in the first team.
Never let the truth get in the way of a good moan.
It shows that if you are good enough , you will get a chance.
Some players are not prepared to wait and so leave and join another club. It’s their choice. We can’t keep everybody.
I maintain that KWP is the only major mistake we have made by not loaning him out . Poch to blame for that. However even KWP has had to move to left back after Southampton bought Livramento.
People in here used to shout for Onomah to be playing when it was obvious he wasn’t up to it. The game just passed him by on loan at Villa . Conspicuous by his absence in the Fulham team in the second division.
Of the current bunch I am undecided on Scarlett as they are unable to give him enough minutes in the first team at present. Not great for him to be in a second team in the conference . They never perform. Parrot may or may not make it although I thought he was a definite two years ago.
Devine and John must have a chance.

You're absolutely right on this.

I've been on this forum long enough to have heard the same criticisms of the academy in the way we managed the progression of Azzaouai, Pritchard, Veljkovic, Ceballos, Iago Falque. I remember a time when people were saying Gomelt should be given a chance and those lambasting the club for allowing Reo Griffith's to leave without an opportunity.

None of these players have lived up to the original fanfare for whatever reason and i think it's fair to say that only a very small number end up being of the quality we need in our senior squad.

Having said that, Townsend, Caulker, Fredericks, Mason, Pritchard, Livermore, Bentaleb are all very good examples of players who we developed and sold on for good profits and there's a lot more who played for our first team for a couple of seasons before being sold so I would argue it's not an academy development issue because the players are being developed fairly well. It's more of a first team integration issue and hopefully one that can be resolved by this link up with Standard Liege.
