Reading Poch's comments describing it as the start of the next chapter tonight. It really is. Forget the recent run of league results, and start fresh. Come out of the gate firing on all cylinders and get that early goal. Fans get behind from the off, sing from opening ceremony to on your way out of the venue. Let's make it a night to remember and bring down those Eagles.

Actually on Palace, I like the thought of an academy player in Townsend being involved in the first proper game at the new ground. Nice story.

We're hosting an opening ceremony for our new stadium and a former academy player is playing against us...what are the chances the football gods pass on this opportunity?

We have appeased the football gods by scarficing our own stadium. They should be more than satisfied. Every team directly above us and below us will fail to win another game all season. We will win every game 5-0 and win the league. And the champs league. And be offered the Europa league trophy as well. After The Scum win it. They will also get relegated. For the crime of paying to get into the league all those years ago. And will have all subsequent trophies they ever won rescinded. And given to us. And will have to play all future games at an actually library. In Woolwich.

My nerves are jangling. I’m gonna be a nervous wreck by the time kick off comes around.

It's likely to be attritional, not "press the hell out of them in the first 30 minutes and get a goal".

Palace have a manager who knows exactly how to set up a defence and he has them set out as an effective counter-attacking side, when Zaha plays. Chances will be difficult to find, a lot of shots and through balls will bounce off defenders' arses or knees and we'll have to throw in a few crosses, rather than trying to bully and trick our way through the scrum of players on the edge of the penalty box for 90 minutes.

It's remarkable that so many of these games have finished 1-0. Rather than seeing it as a tribute to our determination, I'm inclined to see it as an indicator of how bloody difficult Palace are to play against and how fortunate we have been in a succession of close-run contests.

Hoping it's one of those nights everything clicks and we blitz them.

Palace can be dangerous tho, so any result will do. 3 point please spurs!!

I caught up with the MOTD highlights from the weekend at last... Palace are very dangerous on their day, and Zaha was in lethal form.

Not sure why, but I'm more nervous for this game than any other so far this season. I reckon it's because we've been fairly clear for a while now so potential losses weren't season-ending, but now this is a serious must win. Stadium doesn't help either

Feel like a loss here would seriously derail our season. A big win will hopefully do the opposite.

Has anyone every seriously contemplated us not winning this game? Like, I just can't imagine it. It's too horrible a thought.

It's a new era, our new home, everyone's buzzing, everyone's excited, everyone's feeling positive, and cant wait to get behind the team.

So the poll in the OP missed a trick. There was only one question to ask.

Will we get booed off at Halftime, Fulltime, or both?

Exactly - I haven't actually started to comprehend the possibility of not finishing in the top 4 this season tbh, I just can't fathom it.
