Sanchez was really good today. He has looked a bit off the last couple of games but today. He was brilliant.
He was magnificent and he used his head in a really difficult match up for him.

He used his pace and made sure he was a step ahead every step of the way.

That's a player learning from previous. Well done to him and the technical staff.

This is the same Newcastle that beat City. It wasn't an easy match and we played really well in my opinion. Created chances and put constant pressure on Newcastle's defence.

But as usual the narrative in here was that player X is sh*t, today it was Eriksen, against Watford it was Llorente. So tedious and unnecessary.

Title race is on (...again!). ;) COYS!

The way Burnley were getting praised after the game at Wembley really pissed me off. Loads of people saying they were unlucky. You can't be unlucky to have lost if your sole objective was not to concede and you were unsuccessful in that endeavour.

I alluded to this the other night. All but City and Liverpool have come to Wembley to play for a 1-0 win or draw. Even Man United despite the glowing praise they received from the media in the aftermath of the game.

It is also a sign of how we far we have come as a team that clubs come in and sit deep and play on the counter. However, I think there are too many games like this across the league which will ruin it.

Rafa was able to deploy the same set up as he did for City. He got a 2 for 1 in terms of his tactical work. Nearly got a point. Would have been deserved for the set up and resolute defending, but we deserved the win for breaking them down.

Will be more games like this between now and the end of the season. All about the three points.

Great win to keep pace in the race!

Good: Possession, Shot count, Vertonghen, Sissoko, Winks (going forward), Hugo

Bad: Shot accuracy, Officiating consistency, Moura (depressing body language)

Ugly: Lamela is shit. He thinks he is always open and does more running around with little results.

That win was massive. Fail to win and all of a sudden our top 4 finish looks in jeopardy.

Massive save by Hugo from Perez, Sanchez was great against Rondon, Winks was intelligent in possession, Eriksen got into gear second half, Son the goal hero and Llorente involved in the goal again.

That was a struggle, Rafa's teams are so difficult to play against & when you don't have your best players available it's even more of a struggle.

Spot on. I remember Rondon bullying Sanchez when we played West Brom. Not this time around, thankfully.

Loved the desire of Winks to chase the ball down near the end when he gave it away. He played really well today.
Winks is becoming a mature, quality central midfielder. He controlled so much today and he’s becoming central to our starting XI

Fuck you Geordies , they were so awful . I was expecting a draw or loss to some Flukey counter attack and then expecting to hear all the motd and media rubbish, that somehow defending with 9 players is a masterclass.

Thankfully not as Newcastle were just terrible and weren't even trying to get up the pitch normally
