I would add, at the time, Dortmund and RM mattered.
Totally. We are winning more 'big games' than at any point in Premier League history.
I would add, at the time, Dortmund and RM mattered.
Since 1991 we have won 2 League Cups, 2 trophies in 27 years! Now I don't know why and when you became a Spurs supporter but you still would of been brought up on the history of our club, the glory that previous Spurs legends talk about of winning a trophy.Since our last trophy, we have managed to do what we almost never did: become top four contenders and progress in the Champions League.
Not on Broadwater Farm they weren't, they were picking pockets. My mum made over £75Elderly ladies came to their front gates and we're kissing supporters in celebration.
I know very much about winning cups and our history, but we just used to be known as a cup club and more disparagingly, the "Drury Lane fan dancers". I was drawn to Spurs because of the style of play. The trophies had a different value then to now. We now get to play the elite of Europe, and that means more money, important given that we almost went out of business. And, if we have no divine right to win trophies, why are you trying to give me a history lesson?Since 1991 we have won 2 League Cups, 2 trophies in 27 years! Now I don't know why and when you became a Spurs supporter but you still would of been brought up on the history of our club, the glory that previous Spurs legends talk about of winning a trophy.
Now I'm of a generation that grew up playing football until it got dark and we got dragged home. When we played I was scoring the winning goal in a FA Cup final, I can't imagine running around celebrating the goal that secured a top 4 finish. Different times?!
In 1981 my wish as a supporter came true, we won the FA Cup. Tottenham high road was shut off, traffic was at a standstill as returning supporters hit the streets and the local population came out to celebrate. Elderly ladies came to their front gates and we're kissing supporters in celebration. The glory of winning a trophy!
We all have something in common a love of Spurs. Since 2008 we have gone from strength to strength in the league and played some of the best football I've seen since the 80's, yet in those 10 years we have won fuck all, no glory!
If people are content with this because 'it's ok CL is all that matters' then the game I love has died a little bit more. Spurs have no devine right to win things, but the history in our DNA would point us to the glory of trophies!
Pochettino has lost two semis and one final. He can't do anything about the other stuff.I thought it was pretty obvious.
Winning trophies is the whole point of playing football.
Winning .
Money and facilities don’t go down in any record books. An FA cup win in 91 does.
8 semi defeats is an appalling record since.
For the fans and the players this season was about winning a trophy.
We did give it a go. We couldn't go gung-ho, because it would have given them a goal.Still absolutely gutted today. Why didn't we even give it a real go? Losing 3 instead of 2-1, so what? Pile loads of bodies in the box, at bit of gung-ho, so we make it like the Alamo for United. The worst part for me is this time I hoped, yes, believed, we would get there. But we didn't dare. So we didn't do.
We did give it a go. We couldn't go gung-ho, because it would have given them a goal.
You completely missed the point I was making because you seem determined to argue with everybody.I know very much about winning cups and our history, but we just used to be known as a cup club and more disparagingly, the "Drury Lane fan dancers". I was drawn to Spurs because of the style of play. The trophies had a different value then to now. Bloody hell so the £10 I thought I lost on the bus......Not on Broadwater Farm they weren't, they were picking pockets. My mum made over £75
Well the pattern has continued for the previous 7 semi-finals so nothing to suggest it is going to change in the future unless players actually have the self belief to make the difference.Very very disappointing... What a waste and another great opportunity missed again... Hopefully this pattern does not continue.
So many things could be said, but the biggest of all in my opinion is simply in regards to Son and Lamela.
Son is fantastic, but he's at his best when he's direct and running at defenders. Man Utd sorted this out in the first 20 minutes of the game, space was taken away from him and his danger gets limited. Pochettino did nothing.
Lamela, on the other hand, is sort of opposite to Son in this respect. Lamela is fantastic in tight spaces, constantly on the move and moving between the lines. Once Son became more and more ineffective, Lamela would've been a good alternative. Pochenttino, however, brings on Moura, who hasn't been playing much or that well, left Son on, and decided it was best to only give Lamela 5 minutes. That is horrible decision making.
I went to sleep hoping things would be better in the morning.
When i woke up I hoped yesterday was a bad nightmare.
Came on here, and realised it wasn't. Oh well theres always the world cup...
I haven't missed any point and I've only been arguing with people who can't seem to get a grip. You seemed to have missed that with your sepia-tinter specs. You completely missed the point I was making because you seem determined to argue with everybody.
Did you check your blood glucose?I have hardly slept a wink..
Night terrors and reliving the game, if I had been asleep I would have hoped to wake up to a groundhog
day scenario but this time winning that damn game.
Valencia should have been off, Lukaku's mishit ball and Dier's deflected shot hitting the post are on a continuous mental image loop rattling around in my brain.
Broadwater Farm? Must've been a riot! Not on Broadwater Farm they weren't, they were picking pockets. My mum made over £75
Not as bad an idea as it might seem, because it has meant that we have had teams that have played in stylish fits and starts. This has been taken to mean glory.Time for us to drop To Dare Is To Do, we cant live up to it on or off the field, well apart from Levy’s own wages that is.
