Nuno kept it simple and the players executed the plan perfectly. Players covering each other, communicating and showing real bravery on the ball. Brilliant stuff.

Love the game today. First time enjoyed after poch. All were great today. Special performences from Moura, Tanganga and Son. But for me Skipp was best as he is young and playing against top team in a very important position and did great. Few new additons and we can be serious threat to top 5 this year.

And I'm sure over the season that my show but just for one day let's not slag any off them lads off. They were brilliant.

You're absolutely right. As I said, I gave him credit at the end of the game as he deserved it. He worked his socks off the whole game and easily made up for the shortcomings of the first half. The whole team was monumental today, and they deserve a massive round of applause.

Sanchez! Where did that performance come from, rock solid. Him and Dier were outstanding. Moura could easily have got MOTM. But hats off to Tanganga, best RB we have
Probably helped the team had been told not to pitch their tents outside the 18 yard box

At 7pm last night I turned to my wife and said “I think I’m done with the PL. Same shit, different day”

That performance today gives me so much more hope.

Excellent game. And that is why Jose had to go, more heart, fight, attacking intent and togetherness in that 90 mins than his entire 2 ish years.

Tanganga, Lucas, Son, PEH fantastic, everyone else bloody good too.

Great to have proper football back.

Wonderful game. The tactical set-up of Nuno was spot on. The front three of Lucas, Son and Bergwijn kept it narrow, pressed intelligently and left little space for City to play through us. We broke it up well and play some good counter attacking football. Very intelligent and disciplined performance. Showed some shithousery / gamesmanship at the end which was great to see. Bodes really well for the Nuno era.

Love that Son went around the stadium at the end clapping to everyone. He’s the new face of Tottenham. Harry who?

Yeah, rather see Gio start and Rodon somewhere but fuck it, it's the first game and it's against the champions.
That being said, I still think we can win this!
COYS!!!!
I may have said this but honestly, I didn't expect that!
Get the fuck in!

Not going to get carried away, and there’s still a lot work needed to the squad ( with or without Kane), but that was just the tonic we needed.

Whole team left everything out on the pitch which is all you can ask for really.

I really hope that rumour of loaning Tanganga out is a load of rubbish. The guy is ready to be our starting RB now.

If only we had Kane today. He would have had a hatful
System and gameplay worked brilliantly in the end by Nuno but let's see how we fare against teams setting up against us with a low block.

In any case, we laid a real marker down today in terms of effort and application - if can replicate that often this season we'll surprise a lot of people.
We're so much better on the front foot, pressing hard instead of that turgid shite we had to endure under Mourinho
