But for the VAR v Newcastle it has been perfect. Feeling hopeful for the season ahead now ?

Well this didn't age well mate :ROFLMAO:

lol, bet it's Spurs vs Milan final after this, what a ridiculous ending to their game, penalty right at the end of extra time for Milan, then 24 penalties in the shootout, the first 14 all scored, and then 7 of the next 10 missed.

Job done which was the goal. Kane looking sharp. He will always draw defenders in and if he can keep having teammates make good runs, there will be assists and goals aplenty. 3 goals and an assist today. I believe that takes him to 6 goals and 6 assists in 6 games. Pretty good. Bergwijn is growing with more playing time, as are Lo Celso, Ndombele. Davies looks like the competition with Reguilon will do exactly as it should, fire him forward. If Doherty and Aurier can make each other better, that'll be great for the offence. Dele, nice play to gain the penalty, but then tried twice more to nutmeg players where a simple pass to a teammate was the play. Great to see Moura and Lo Celso scoring as that will likely do confidence a world of good.

Only real negative (I will not bother with silly handball calls - football has lost the plot) is in defensive MF. Why oh why do we keep backing off and allowing opposition players to sort their feet and put their laces through the ball. It's not the CB's. What is happening (or not) in front of them has to get sorted, and fast. We need that dominant player in front of the CB's to break up play. I just don't see that consistently in Winks, Hojbjerg or Sissoko. Maccabi should not be getting 5 or 6 quality chances from the middle just outside the box.

Good week though. In to the group stages of the EL and on to the quarters in the Carabao with Stoke away next. Still in em all to win em all. And that is how it should be. Now let's knock back United at the weekend. Back to Focus. Oh, and Bale on the practice ground suggests greater things to come.

I think part of the problem with the chances we conceded in the second half was that our guys were completely aware that we could out score them. That meant that at times all three of Lucas, Dele and Bergwijn played waiting for Winks and Hojbjerg to win it and release them. I feel that maybe against a more competent team we would've seen more defensive aptitude.

Just watching the highlights and the repeated rendition of Sandstorm really grates. Plus I think there should be a theme for away side goals. How about this?

That was a bit of a mixed bag. We didn’t look anywhere near in control as we did on Tuesday. The first 15 minutes or so were embarrassing. We go 1-0 after 2 minutes and for the next 10+ minutes everyone bombshell forward chasing a second and leave the 2 CBs completely exposed. Schoolboy football.
Fair dos to Maccabi. They came to play and despite the score never stopped getting forward. They were continually dangerous and overall were the more cohesive team.
FIAB and FIFA are officially a joke! They’ve completely fried the brains of referees. Arms in an “unnatural position” now include down by your side and in front of your chest. You couldn’t make it up. It’s like a Monty Python sketch. The Ministry of unnatural arm positions.

Can’t understand why he is jogging around like that and not pressing or marking in defense. Makes no sense, he just need to run and be a bit eager, why isn’t he doing that when he knows that’s what Mourinho wants from him when he’s defending?

Attacking today he was doing great.
There were times where he didn't press because he was actively closing the opponent's passing lane.
There's no point rushing around for 90 mins if that forces everyone else to do the same and when we're 3 or 4 goals ahead and players need to conserve energy the press is more a hindrance than a benefit.

Just saw the guy saying "kane on my cock". All these shite little teams that we played in qualifying have incredible arrogance.
