I think they should postpone all the games really, so no team gets an advantage over another.

Plus we need all the police we can get at the mo, as anarchy has spread to a lot of cities in England at the mo.

There is and never was any "anarchy" - it was a load of chavvy kids with no fucking morals or respect.

They started in Tottenham with what was actually a cause, apart from that was scummy youths with no cause but to act like fucking idiots.

The most annoying thing from Spurs POV is that we now have to start with United away when the rest of the Prem have already got a game under their belts.

I do think this could have an affect on our season as our start is so important, we could see ourselves waiting a fair old while for our first win... which will have a bit pf physcological damage... hopefully not al la 2008

That's not why it's been called off though. That happened on Sunday and nothing has happened since. I think the club has really shot ourselves in the foot here. Presumably we're going to have a very tough start to the season, we could now lose our first 3-4 games, are we going to sack Harry if we're bottom of the table?

Well, it gives us an extra nine days to sign a striker or two. As well as bringing our injured players nine days closer to fitness.

Playing your first league game of the season at Old Trafford on a Monday night isn't ideal, but we can't do any worse than we usually do up there. Hopefully, because of the delay to our season kicking off, our players will be chomping at the bit when we get to Manchester.

It might end up actually helping us to not lose the game for a change.

I can now envisage seeing a much stronger team away to hearts to give the players some more game time

The starting point for this was the shooting of a local man
alledged to have shot a policeman whilst being arrested.
It turns out that he didn't.

Then the police failed to turn up to a liason meeting with the family.

The rest is history.

To understand is not to excuse.

Yea but it's the initial cause of the need for precaution surely.

Gutted about not being on, but some things are more important than football.

Sorry Im not having that.

When the G20 (which was known about and so they were prepared for it) got a bit hairy, they started kettling and got absolutely hammered for it.
This time (which came from pretty much absolutely nowhere. No warning whatsoever that it was going to kick off in such a huge way) they concentrated more on containment and guess what, they are getting hammered for it.

Damned if they do, damned if they don't.

They didn't contain, though. They protected the police station and gave the wankers the free run of the High Road for several hours.

Anyone but me actually been to look for themselves?

I'm tempted to head to Craven Cottage as the Mrs has already got tickets in the neutral section to watched her beloved Villa.

This was my thinking, they should postpone them all really being the first game of the season.

Or, we might be fresher than United and get a long-awaited win at Old Trafford. Greavesie had it right, it's a funny old game :)

SpursSince57 as a local resident can you tell us if the local people have been calling for the game to be cancelled, I'd be interested to know the mood locally.

We won't be fresher than United, we've got the Hearts game on Thursday.

And being one league game behind everyone else so early in the season and THEN having ManU away and ManC home as our next two games could hugely impact our season if we don't win at least one of them.

:-(
