Tottenham are in ‘pole position’ to sign Frankfurt’s Evan Ndicka and are also ‘considering a move’ for Bayer Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie. Despite the improved form of Ben Davies and Eric Dier in Antonio Conte’s back-three, the Italian head coach is still prioritising a central defender this summer.

I think Ndicka would be a great signing. He has all the physical attributes and is pretty good on the ball as well. We'd cover his cost by selling Sanchez and we'd get a more useful player at LCB. Hincapie I'm not so sure about, but he could cover LWB too I guess (Ecuadorian Ben Davies?). The other one that stands out is Badiashile with Monaco allegedly interested in Sanchez. They don't need to sell now though so that might make it tricky. Maybe I'm being impatient, but Inter are pissing about again, Gvardiol would cost a fortune, Villareal plead poverty over GLC but want 50m for Torres. I'd also be happy enough with Lenglet for relative peanuts (loan) since I think he'd be great in a back 3.

Agree with that summary but think it boils down to N'Dicka as the best option therefore. Lenglet seems tarnished by his time at Barca and ideally we're looking for players on the up.

Wouldn't argue with that at all. Ndicka's style is very similar to Romero's where he's very quick to close down space and make a tackle and he also stays on his feet. He's also got pace to burn which is a huge bonus. The only very slight negative (not even that really) is that he's not an elite passer, just a very good one, which again is the same as Romero. I hope Lenglet is on our backup list though since I get the feeling he could be similar to Kulusevski, in that he's been written off and needs a new challenge with plenty to prove.
