Tottenham are lining up another return for Gareth Bale as well as another five other signings this summer in an attempt to appease Antonio Conte, according to reports. There is still concern behind the scenes that the Italian manager could depart ahead of next season despite Spurs’ improvement since his appointment six months ago.

Im not saying its true, but if a manager, just like a player, needs to be convinced to manage/play for us, Id rather they left. It is a privelidge to be part of Spurs, and I only want people here who realise that.

I can see where you are coming from but at the same time I feel like you are looking at it from a fan perspective whereas he is tasked with creating a team that wins trophies (which unfortunately we are sadly lacking in recently) and for that, he needs to bring in players. His job isn't to be a Spurs fan.

Of course you are right, but surely that task will only be made harder if the manager would rather be somewhere else?

Yes absolutely but getting past the media headlines and knowing what Conte is actually thinking is impossible. For me, Levy gambled on bringing in someone who is a winner and is still at the top of his game. He also knew that Conte will demand backing and hopefully was aware enough of what Conte is like as a person. When you bring someone in, you have to accept every aspect of them. He is a winner and he is also temperamental. It's impossible to separate the two aspects of his personality.

It doesn’t always feel like a privilege to support to support Spurs!

Managers of his calibre will always be weighing up their options IF they feel like the current gig isn't going well or more importantly doesn't provide the level of support to get to the level he wants it to get to.

As for Bale I'd take him on a free for sure, Conte would probably appreciate Bale's experience and he'd be a far better option off the bench or starting when needed to than Lucas.

Only just seen this and I can tell you DL wants Bale back, but that feeling isn't exactly shared by those that really matter.
