are you serious ?
Nay. This Bergenser is back home, fall break. Woopwoop!
I ended up at Scotsman Thursday (obviously), Friday and Saturday last week though :|
Hello.
I am London lad who may have just secured a six month job in Bergen.
What's life like round there?
Any chance of footy matches being shown regularly?
What's the cost of living?
Will I live on £27 an hour?
Any of you live in Bergen?
I work in banking.
The initial offer is basically:
* They will pay me £27 an hour.
* They will pay for my accommodation in Bergen.
* They will pay for my flights and a couple of my girlfriends flights to go over there.
* They would like me to start end of April.
How much do you normally spend per week there/What's the cost of living?

I live in Bergen, and its very expensive compared to the UK - My girlfriend lives in London atm and whenever over there is seem to get much more for my money.. Prices are like Joleik says..A bit different from what you are used to.. But Bergen is a beautiful city, and you´ll enjoy it..
Where will they put you up to live?
I am not sure where I'll be living just yet, but the office is on Strandgaten.
What about if I don't speak a word of Norwegian? How does the non-Norwegian cope with language issues?
Not yet. Am waiting to speak with the manager up there. I worked for the London branch before so they didn't even bother with the interview, I haven't even met the people yet.
If they let me know when they want me to start and what sort of accomodation is in store for me then it won't be long before I make a decision.
I've been looking at some photos of the place. It looks cool. I just hope that I'm able to fit in ok for the duration.
I may have to get one of you guys to show me the cool stuff. And of course meet up for games, as there'll be no more visits to the Lane for a while...
I have tickets for the Liverpool game, and if they want me to start before then I will have to give them up!!
It's crunch time for me! Leave my wordly possessions and explore the fjords, or stay home and get sweaty when summer hits the city.......
I will arrive on the 3rd!
Not sure what time, but I'll probably be too late for the Reading game.
