Woohoo!

Nice to see this across the line. It is a shame to see Lamela go but hopefully this is a long term upgrade.

Remember people,
that's you too
Mr Pleat
it's pronounced Hill not Gill
if you want to make him
really feel at home.

Terrific prospect, has pace, trickery and can mince any defence on his day. Credit to Paratici for doing the deal and off loading Lamela at the same time.

Like probably everyone else, I've watched about ten minutes of Gil making two or three defenders at a time look like klutzes.

What I haven't seen is Gil turning that into end-product: crosses, through balls and passes that lead to goal-scoring chances. I am sure Nuno will be working with him on this.

Nor have I seen him tracking back and covering, although that's probably because it doesn't make good YouTube fodder.

Given the obvious talent, I'm expecting excitement from the word "go", but perhaps not reliable effectiveness in his first year.

Hi David

try this video. His tracking back was a particular surprise

Sad to see Lamela go but I'm sure he'll enjoy himself in Seville. Welcome Bryan Gill - really exciting prospect.

Looks to me like we've replaced the most one-footed player in the squad with... the most one-footed player in the squad. ?

I'm liking the look of Gil overall though and good luck Erik!
