This suggests that Huddlestone to Fulham was pulled by Spurs as an expected midfielder did not come to Spurs. Always difficult to get players in January as there are relatively few players for sale - and fewer that Spurs might have wanted to improve on Huddlestone !

Or we'd given him the go ahead to discuss personal terms with them before we'd finalised a fee and they never offered an acceptable amount.

Who really knows, but usually clubs agree the terms before player agrees wages unless player pushing for the move, and no sign of that.

I think our biggest issue is off the bench. We seriously lack pace if we need to spark something.... if one of Bale or Lennon go down there could be some pretty serious issues.

Yes, aside from Bale and Lennon and perhaps Holtby, there's a lack of pace in midfield. I wonder what it'll be like if injuries forced us to play Bentley and Siggy on the wings and big Tom in the middle, and Gallas and Dawson in defence.

Of course i would have loved to see A Willian type player come in but we have a strong squad and with the arrival of Holtby I am confident that we will create more chances for Ade/Defoe to put away. This for me is the key - not that bothered we didn't sign a striker tbh.

I really hope with Holtby coming in we will see bale revert to his natural position of wide left week in week out.
To see bale play wide left for the rest of the season would be like a new signing for me. Plus I think with Holtby In The middle and him and Lennon wide we will see more goals from Ada and Defoe.
