Did anyone see this? Of course such a game does not mean much, but I was wondering,
1. Does Kaboul seem to move ok, no aftereffects of the op?
2. Bentaleb? Never saw him near the 1st team before. Any impression?

Match reports indicate it was played behind closed doors so looks like only a select few would have much info. Wasn't even listed anywhere as a pre-season game I don't think..

Yeah, I had never heard anything about it either; I supposed I was just ignorant...

What a ninja game.
We did the same last summer, same weekend and we even won 3-2 against Brentford back then as well

So what's the agenda of these closed games? The players are so rusty and out of shape they don't want the public to see them?

Probably, and to be fair most pre season games shouldn't be on tv for same reason.
Just look at United's game in Asia yesterday, broadcasted all over the world even if it was of non league standard.

Probably not the best thing (from a United viewpoint) to have the cameras zooming in on Moyes's face heaping mroe pressure on him - when he would be facing enough as it was.

Wasnt there but played 4-3-3, kaboul and verts worked well. Kaboul obvs isnt match fit will have to wait till a few more games to see if pace has suffered.
Was a big mix of first team/younger players. Cant take much from this game apart from u can see we are changing formation.

Found this on SO - from The SpursWeb

Tottenham have begun their pre-season with a 3-2 victory against League One outfit Brentford.

The game took place “behind closed doors” at the Tottenham training ground and is the second year in a row which we have faced the Bees in the build up to the new season.

French midfielder Nabil Bentaleb featured during the first half and it wasn’t any surprise to hear that Gareth Bale was once again on the score sheet, however the visitors battled back to take a 2-1 advantage into the break.

AVB changed all eleven players for the second half and it’s great to see that Younes Kaboul featured in the friendly alongside Jan Vertonghen, especially as many expect the pair to be our first-choice central defensive partnership.

Jermain Defoe had his goalscoring boots on and scored both goals in the second half to give us a 3-2 win against Uwe Rosler’s side.

Spurs 1st half team: Friedel, Naughton, Dawson, Caulker, Rose; Mason, Huddlestone, Bentaleb; Lennon, Bale, Obika

Spurs 2nd half team: Archer, Smith, Kaboul, Vertonghen, Stewart; Parker, Carroll, Sigurdsson; Townsend, Defoe, Ceballos

I wonder if it says anything about the way we are going to play in that in both halves the 3 in midfield consisted of 2 cms (bentaleb, Parker, hudd Carroll, and one acm type player (sig, mason) I think it bodes well for sig particularly, and perhaps holtby

Agree, this match to me is quite telling, as you say the 3 CM's, especially in the second half seem to be a classic replica of what we were expecting from Porto, with Parker as DM, Sig as the box to box and Carroll as the playmaker.

Some in the shop window for watching scouts, others like Naughton v Smith as to who will be backup for Walker, i hope Smith, and we cash in on Naughton.

Good to see some of the promising youngsters get a run out, i hope we keep Carroll at the club this coming season and develop him in house as it were, would rather that than spend a fortune on Pjanic (even though i rate him).
