Jose really puts the pressure on his medical team. I know he wants and needs his best players to play, but it's not like the medical staff are trying to exaggerate the extent of the injuries. I felt sorry for the guy when he was just trying to let Jose know that Son would need to have a scan on his arm.
Agree. Was my experience working with a club here in the US. Manager was always pushing players to play injured and pushing the physios to allow them to play injured.I think that happens between physios and managers the country and world over. I remember speaking to a retired physio who’d worked in a PL club years ago and he said it was the case then anyway.
Hopefully and understand why he was frustrated just he fell out with the Chelsea physio woman before and don’t want a repeat of that at spurs as think he’s doing a good jobI would cut jose slack in this instance. He seemed frustrated and just angry at the situation. I mean how cna you achieve your goals if you can't score any...
I think you’d find it hard because I believe at the top level of sports that is very likely the dominant personality. I actually think it often takes that type of personality to get to that level. Where you illogically very rarely blame yourself and only use those things to drive you on to become better.Fair enough.
I might have mentioned it before, but Danny reminds me of so many people I've worked with in the past - those who have "me versus the world" attitudes (possibly paranoia, who knows). A real chip-on-the-shoulder.
Whilst what they say might not necessarily be factually incorrect, that whole attitude is just repellent in a team environment. There's a big difference between being a balls-out and honest confrontational leader, and acting like you're just plain angry at the world. You see guys like that a lot in life and they get angry that they aren't getting the promotions or perks, but the reality is that you have to not come across as frictional, but more 'passionate' in these things.
It's weird because the anecdotes about being the 'teacher pet' suggest that he had the right mix not so long ago. It seems to have been that Sun interview about 3 years ago, or that injury he had, that changed him
Thought it was very good how he framed it. "They're going to target Toby because they know he's on a yellow so you target their three players on yellows." Basically, be ****s because they're going to be ****s. Good psychology right there from Jose because he made it acceptable and logical to act the ****.
I'd imagine there is tonnes of great stuff from him we don't get to see because him and the club don't want it in the public domain. There's no way Jose is as light on tactics as the programme suggests.
Or maybe just maybe all this time Jose has been pretty much just a Portuguese Harry Redknapp lol
He was on our radar too! Redknapp sent Sherwood and Ferdinand to Amsterdam to scout him; but they probably turned the event into a lads jolly and didn't do a proper job. apparently too similar to VDV...How Tottenham's new chief scout Steve Hitchen helped Liverpool to sign Luis Suarez
Hitchen was instrumental in the January 2011 signing of the Uruguayan striker who went on to change football historywww.independent.co.uk
Might help you a little bit about the egg head scout.

What like an Avon Rep?I've never seen Hitchens before, based on the episode introduction, I thought he was an agent.
Harry is still very underrated by Tottenham fans, he was a very good manager for us
Of course our best manager after Poch for many years. I just meant in terms of management style. AON makes Jose out to seem as if he’s nothing more than a man manager and motivator.
He looks like he's squeezing a spot. lolI still can't get over the look of inner peace and contentment that Lloris has while some bloke is messing with his arse cheek.
Correct, the job he did for the first couple of years certainly, and the unfortunate throwaway jokey comment when talking about Pav's winning goal against Liverpool and saying he told him to "run around a bit" through his interpreter, sort of stuck with him and was used as the stick to bash him with whenever things didn't work out. Was the right decision for him to move on though, similar to Poch really.Harry is still very underrated by Tottenham fans, he was a very good manager for us
No don't be silly. It was part of the international paedophile satanist conspiracy. They spread it through furniture on wayfarer website. So it was spread by Amazon Prime?
That is, in fairness a large part of what he is. Jose does do tactics, of course but he doesn't tend to do anything complicated, nor does he excessively coach players tactical solutions to every problem. Historically Jose was known for training players by giving them problems but not solutions, allowing players to use their instinct in real game situations, rather than heavily coached attacking play.Of course our best manager after Poch for many years. Did we just see an ITK showing Bergwijn around his flat?
