Just finished the first episode. Josè uses a lot of profanity when talking. So far a nice insight in the every day at Tottenham. Dele Alli lazy in training and Sissoko influential in the dressing room - fuck ?

He seemed a little awkward in some of his conversations with Mourinho, but who wouldn't be...
When he was talking about Son's goal reminded me of when my best mate talks to me about football. And he doesn't know the first thing about football.

Absolutely loved it! Had to watch all three after watching one. I love seeing more of their personalities showing in this. I was surprised how calm the half time talks were. Moura's goal against Ajax made me well up yet again. Jose comes across as funny as well as serious and determined. I definitely have a positive feeling after that and can't wait for the next three!

One thing I liked about the first episode, is when Josè picks his starting XI against West Ham. You can feel the tension in the room before the announcement and the players who are not picked; gutted, just staring annoyed onto whatever. Oh, and Josè having Football Manager installed on his MacBook ???

I’ve watched the first 3. I think it is an interesting insight into Jose and his relationship with the players and I think he was very honest with them.

I thought it was interesting that his assessment of many of them is the same as the fans’ generally, Dele lazy and inconsistent and in danger of not reaching his potential and Serge being a worry defensively.

I thought you could get the sense of factions in the dressing room with the contract situations but also CE and Rose (who was barely featured but we know has a lot to say for himself). I think that did have a negative impact together with the CL hangover.

Most importantly Jose is right in the team being too nice and that he has identified a need for more aggression and leadership and that reflects in the 3 signings we have made (Hojbjerg- Aggressive, club captain, leader), Hart (vocal, leader) and Doherty (aggressive). That’s why I’d like to hope that with United seemingly signing DVB, IF (big if) we can shift TN’D then we would be in for Grealish. I think he’s grown as a player, is another club captain and would add more leadership (mid off field brain fades aside!).

I wonder if things will pop up as sort of flashbacks regarding our transfer dealings or lack of (especially once H and Son get injured) I can't believe Jose won't say "what kind of top flight club has only one striker" or words to that effect.

I would say firm no to both. Poch will only appear in past game footage if at all, and Jose won’t say anything that incriminates Levy

I really enjoyed it, watched all 3 earlier. José obv comes off really well. As do Dele, Serge, and Jan.. I had the same reaction as José to the Sissoko moment, made me laugh!! Kane’s speeches are not great, but it’s not just about his words, it’s about the emotion and determination. Obv we are lacking that, hence the new signings.
Can’t wait to see more, Tanganga thrown in against Liverpool, the emergence of LoCelso, Lloris returning/the handbags with Son, the Sheffield loss, still lots to come!

People keep slagging off Kanes speeches but I dunno what people really expect him to say. I imagine all of these run if the mill pre match speeches are largely just generic stuff regardless of which team or player.

By all accounts from what we've saw the guy does his leading by working hard and setting an example, which is far more effective than swanning in 5mins before kick off and giving a gladiatorial speech IMO

Also don't forget he a tally interrupts Mourinho during one of the team meetings and calls out the rest of the team for the lack of effort not just in the previous game but all season. Stuff like that shows leadership as well IMO.

He sounded like one of us speaking about the team on here on occasions last season.

As someone who is coaching in Jose's home country I can tell you that it's a normal motivation speech from a player or even an assistant coach in pretty much all dressing rooms globally.

It's not about what you say so much in that moment it's about raising your voice and making sure everyone is awake and their senses are heightened.

The words hardly matter. Unless of course you're team are trailing and about to be relegated or it's a cup final then it may call for a more poignant inspirational message.

But after watching it you have to be alarmed at how quiet this bunch are. Your team HAVE to be communicating non stop, on the pitch, in the dressing room - everywhere. The minute it goes quiet you know you've got a problem.

Hopefully we see more now we have Jose, Hart, Hojbjerg and Doherty.

Only watched the first episode but enjoyed it much more than I was expecting.

Skipping over the first 25 minutes which were obviously grim, it was fascinating to see how Jose chose to establish his authority with the players.

Definitely wasn’t expecting him to call Dele out as ‘fucking lazy’ in the first training session.

With our fanbase they're probably expecting a minimum 8/10 Rik Mayall's and only get the swearing so only give him the 2/10

Rik Mayall team talk below...

If it's not that or an Al Pacino "Any Given Sunday" then he's obviously failed as a captain :singing:

Thanks for posting this. I'm not a coach but I noticed how quiet the squad was and that's not a good thing. No wonder our confidence is so brittle.

Anyone who doesn’t go water/toothpaste/water is an absolute wrongun.
I’ve removed people from my life for less.
I’m sure the physio specified that he doesn’t use water after brushing.
Who the fuck leaves toothpaste to chill on the bristles?

Finished the 3 episodes...

Aurier talking about himself & his difficult childhood. In hindsight losing his brother to similar situation end of season, should make it very difficult for him to view his own content. Regardless he came across well. Also, nice to see him redeeming himself with that Olympiokos goal after the half time talk.

Things of note :
  1. Jose saying Sky pundit to fuck off. His dislike for United seems more than Chelsea
  2. Jose saying to Kane, Spurs have a better players than United. Probably when he was at United it was true. Now situation is changing slowly with their new additions.
  3. Jose shocked to hear Sissoko is the most influential player in squad. And kudos for Sacremento to know that quickly.
  4. Lo Celso on his headphone most times, seems very private person.
  5. Ndombele eating most times when he is not playing.
  6. Casual Dele: joking most times, even with the very important discussion on whether to dip in brush with paste in water or not.
  7. Lack of coverage on injured players like Lamela or Lloris
  8. Chelsea loss : If Jose sells Gazaniga can see why... probably due to that Chelsea game
I'd be cautious about reading too much into all of this, esp first 3 episodes.. It's so staged and scripted to an agenda. I'm sorry for people like Lo Celso that the whole thing wasn't released all at once - we can't make such judgements about him, he just hasn't been highlighted yet.

I'd be very surprised if that moment wasn't totally staged.
