Well no, I certainly would not be inclined to go to the Emirates with Soldao and Defoe starting but craven cottage?; not such a big deal.

That's why I said I need to see how he changes the team. Not going to judge him yet either way. Need to see him over the Xmas fixtures first.

I attempted to make a point last week that I didn't really understand the whole 'match fitness' nonsense that, a player takes 3-4 games to get back to form. If a player is fit and ready he's ready to go in my opinion. Look at Ade today, 2 games back and 3 goals, Danny Rose has played exceptionally well in my opinion

Not disagreeing with your post but I made a point last week that I didn't really understand the whole 'match fitness' nonsense that a player takes 3-4 games to get back to form. If a player is fit and ready he's ready to go in my opinion. Look at Ade today, 2 games back and 3 goals, Danny Rose has played exceptionally well in my opinion, Chiriches had a solid performance as did Eriksen. I think they have more to prove when they come back to keep their place so if the physio deems them ready, play them all you want I say.

I actually agree with you on match fitness, but I still don't think they will play Ade against West Brom, Stoke and Man Utd, after 90 mins. I think he'll be rested against Stoke.

A ROOKIE ERROR from the journo, saying to Sherwood, "You've said you want the job", to which Sherwood said, "I never said I wanted the job!" That puts that one to rest then. Pretty sure he'd want the job though, don't we all?
I love it when journos get called out for doing poor research.

If he was making decisions for the good of his CV he would have gone all out to please the fans by smashing a london rival in his first game in charge. Instead he assessed the situation, decided what was important for spurs as a club and risked been thrown out on his arse after one game by playing a weaker side. Because those players didn't play weds we can probably keep more or less our best pllayers in the starting line-up for the next 4 games straight. If we can take 12 points we'll be laughing our bollocks off and won't give a shite about watching Spam getting fuckslapped by a City 2nd XI

Hahaha, fuckslapped, brilliant!!!! :D

So while the journo was wrong and Sherwood pulled him up on it, Sherwood went on seconds later to mention that he wants it "long term!" So he DOES want it! This interview will confirm this one then.

taking Lamela off for Chadli.... Siggy was so invisible during the game TS replaced the wrong person.

I have not been convinced by his subs, and still has the same problem as AVB.... PLAYING SIGGY OF THE F-ING LEFT, FFS!!

Did like the look of Ade and Soldao up front today, but the question is... Is this one game wonder Ade or is he going to put in consistently good performances for us? That is the real question.

Us playing 442 without Adebayor won't work IMO. The sole reason it did was due to the running and work rate of Ade. Something Defoe won't offer in the slightest.

This will be Sherwoods big test for me over Xmas. Ade can't play both upcoming games you would think, especially as his match fitness won't be the same as everyone else's. Now when Ade does get a rest, if Sherwood plays Defoe up top along with Soldado, it will confirm to me he's going to stubbornly persist with his "anti AVB" tactics no matter what, and confirm my fears he's not ready to manage a team like Spurs.

You are forgetting Harry Kane, who Sherwood rates very highly.

Think the message he has been trying to get across is that he wants it but on his terms.

LOL, what's that got to do with my post on the rookie journo?

I thought Adebayor's comments after the game were very good as well. He's often labelled in the media as a heartless mercenary but his comments after the game did a good job in putting football into perspective

AVB really did make a huge mistake in marginalising Ade.

Another example of stubbornness getting the better of somebody. Three goals in two games, where we have been so short in that department, is damning.

So strange to see Ade's name pop up on the scoresheet again. Genuinely didn't think we'd ever see him as a regular starter again. If he's playing this well with only his second start of the season, imagine what he could be like when he has a few games under his belt. We must take advantage of an in-form Adebayor, because you never know when he might go through his next lazy spell. I didn't see the game unfortunately, but from what I've heard it sounds like his performance today was by far the best individual performance by a Spurs player in the league this season, and that's only his first start.

Could be like a new signing.

Hard to argue with that, and unfortunately it was personal and not a club marginalising as he's been put straight back in!

To be honest it was a no brainer that Soldado needed to play with someone like Adebayor. Bold decisions by Sherwood, could have been suicidal at times but thankfully we got the three points. Still don't rate Sigurdsson. I feel like Eriksen need more game time to prove himself, as does Lamela (lacks strength).

I'm not gonna lie, I think our defense would have been a lot more stable had Benny not been sent to QPR too. God only knows how many points we could have gained just having those two as options earlier on in the season.
