Not sure how I feel about this.. I rate Son, but think it's a bit of a weird one all things considered.

Good luck to him, we can cope with out him for a couple of games I think.
He needs to start making an impact when he gets back though, hope he blossoms like Lamela.

Think it's more concerning for everyone that his absence will have very little impact

I'm not sure I agree. Ok his efforts in pre season were poor but he started well for us last season and if it wasn't for injuries and the form of alli and lamela, would have got more game time.

What's good about him going to the olymics if that he'll get some good game time under his belt, maybe more that starting the season with us off the bench

Hey, I'm not a Son hater, he noticeably improved our play when he first joined. But the fact is, he isn't a regular starter, he's been sporadically involved and hasn't made much of impact since he came back from injury, so realistically, how much difference will it actually make compared to last season?

Sure it's disappointing that we're not seeing him involved fresh from the start, but that would be a change, not this. The best thing about the Olympics is if he wins a medal, he'll never have to do national service

It's no longer about the starting 11. If we want to do well in the CL, we need to have a big enough squad with quality players. If Son can recapture his form prior to his injury and be willing to sit on the bench and wait for his chance, I am all for keeping him.

This is his make or break season in English football. If he gets injured it will severely hamper his chances of succeeding. I think he is now a better player than the one we payed 22 million for but he might always regret this.

I'd like to see him do well but he will have it all to do when he comes back....

I'm not saying we should sell him. I'm saying what difference will missing a couple of games at the start of the season really matter? He's not become a central cog yet. It's not ideal, we'd obviously prefer otherwise, but we could also reasonably not really notice, especially if we sign Georgey

I think he does an awful lot more than you think. Yeah okay he hasn't been the player we all thought he would be, but he's at a new club, new league, on and off injury all be it minor. It takes time to find your feet, there all human at the end of the day.

Genuinely think this season we'll see a side so son we haven't quite seen at the club yet.

Winning a medal with his country and for his country could be more meaningful for him. Also winning a medal for them means he can forego military service.
Well he hasn't even asked what we have in store for him if he wins the league...

He might be surprised at how difficult it is to get minutes when he comes back. We're not lacking hungry players chomping to take their chance.

This is his chance to be able to forego military service, ffs. Give the guy a break. The fact people seem to be upset with Son over this is embarrassing.

A chance to forego military service or a better chance to break into the first team of a club you currently play for? Give me the chance to forego military service 100 times out of 10.
