At £22m, I'd really hope we'd be getting better players than Son.

Seems a lot for someone who doesn't offer much defensively or attacking wise other than being fast and a decent finisher.

Yarmolenko at £14m is far better.

Also, there's a lad at Leicester who would cost far less and is already doing it in the EPL.

Or Jefferson Montero, another good player.

Could always bid £22m for Jay Rodriguez, I'm sure Southampton wouldn't reject that kind of money.

Leicester have a new manager, no way they upset him this early by selling Mahrez for anything other than silly money.
I would love to know how much of Son and Yarmolenko you have watched to compare their respective work defensively?

Jay Rodriguez's ability is quite up in the air now, he suffered a major injury and although he is playing again, it may not be possible that he gets to the level he was when we were interested in signing him. He would be a bigger risk than Son.

Whilst I wouldn't be against signing players like the chaps at Leicester, we need to be wary of our mistakes from players like Bentley and Palacious who were signed on hot streaks.

Son makes financial sense due to his ability and his commercial value. He is a smart acquisition by our board because his appeal in the Asian market could lead to improved financial assets to the club. That would be perfect for helping us fund this stadium. Though more importantly, the German league is the closest thing in terms of quality to the premier league. Yarmolenko isn't a bad player I agree, but Son seems to fit the bill in terms of what we need right now.

The financials from the Asian market make sense but the most important aspect here, in my opinion, is his ability to play well in all three positions up top. He can shoot effectively with both feet and play wide or the centre-forward role. He gives the coach lots of options and (key) he can replace Kane when he loses form, is injured or is tired. Son is a perfect signing. Let's hope it gets done.

How can you not offer much attacking wise if you're a decent finisher?

Not sure about anyone else but Son hasn't even signed and I'm already fed up with all the shit (and, at times, pretty much racist) jokes about his name, dogs and how Korea sounds like career. I'd expect better at a Jim Davidson gig.
