"and we of Spurs have set our sights very high, so high in fact that even failure will have in it an echo of glory."

I don't usually start thread on here, and i don't often reply. But I hope all of you yids out there feel as I do. I'm so proud. Especially of Ledley, Dawson, and Lennon. Today, every second, even the winning penalty, I felt utter pride that I am a tottenham fan. Bill Nic's words seemed to echo through my mind, and love of this club throbed through every heartbeat. We are Tottenham, and we know what GLORY means, and those silly gits from up north (mainly south tho ) don't have any clue. COYS!

top most mate, I was a bit down, but most overwhelmingly im proud because we took the english, european and world champions to 90mins and should ave won the game!

Very proud of us, nobody gave us half a chance, just makes you think that what if Harry could get this this motivated for Newcastle, Sunderland, Bolton away etc

I was thinking of those very same words. If we had of lost to a middle or lower level prem team I would have been very upest, but to lose to a team who are CL and WCC holders is no great failure.

This is but a building block, and another game that a "Top 4" team could not beat us in 90 minutes, never mind 120.

A good finish to the league now to help us push on for next season, and please get behind the players, all the vitriol towards, O'Hara, Bent and Bently is uncalled for. We have been spolit, being brought up with the likes of Blanchflower, Chivers, Hoddle, Ardiles, Ginola and Berbatov and need to realise we are not always going to have the best players, and with the change in transfer policy over paying for players will hopefully stop.
Also look at the past players I mentioned, only two have played in the PL era, and I have missed out the likes of White, Mackay, Greaves, Peters, Jennings, Perryman. This shows our calibre of player has dropped, but we at least have a good cornerstone to build on, given time and patience, something which most spurs fans fail to possess.

I was just about to open a thread like this, Likewise mate I am proud to be Spurs today. Them boys left everything out there on the pitch, each and every one of them, and that is all I ask of them. We were hamstrung by injuries, ineligibility etc but traded blow for blow with the mancs they know they was in a game today.

Spurs 4 ever the future looks bright.

Exactly my thoughts. I saw the game in a sports bar in Moscow. It was half full and people weren't overly interested. I wasn't sure if people would be supporting Man Utd as they are popular all over the world or us because of having Pav.

By the end everyone was supporting us. You could tell they could see we were giving our all and the whole place was disappointed we lost on pens. A few Russians came up to me afterwards obviously knowing I'm Spurs by my reaction and said they were impressed by how hard we worked and Lennon got a lot of praise.

We lost but pride is the strongest feeling I have right now.

if we cant beat a 2nd string piece of shit team, well fuck'em.
im so fucking furious the way played

so your saying

Rio Ferdinand is 2nd string
Johnny Evans is 2nd string
**EUROPEAN AND WORLD PLAYER OF YEAR** Cristiano Ronaldo is 2nd string
Carlos Tevez is 2nd string
Paul Scholes is 2nd string
Patrice Evra is 2nd string
John O'Shea is 2nd string

your an idiot of ridiculous amounts

These same players have been playing all season for Man U and won a World Club Cup, as well as last season where they won a Champions League and Premier League!

The way we played? THEIR Goalkeeper was Man Of the Match!

EPIC FAIL darling epic fail

Gomes didn't have a shot to save, he got down to a low one to his right but it was going out anyway, ronaldo's post shot was the closest but it was a miss whereas their keeper kept them in the game with two brilliant saves that tells me that we were far better than many people gave us credit for.

Disappointed that we lost but chest out at the way we played, didn't deserve to lose.

Spot the douche bag!

Incredibly proud, we were the better team imo and pens was always gonna go be a gamble......tho I was disappointed with Bentley for not at least hitting the target....sums up his season really, ah well.

3 points on weds are all that matter now.

Sorry....love to agree and heap praise on our boys but just can't get over the fact we lost.

For all our efforts, and how well we nullified them we never really carved out a single goalscoring chance against a ManU side missing Berba/Rooney/Carrick et al.....

And to lose how we did on Pens' was pathetic and only brought back memories of England teams of the past....

So inspite of proving we could compete to all those who wrote us off, as a Spurs fan I never doubted we would at the least be competitive, and don't see any glory in our defeat, but only a failure to finish the job after working so hard for 120 mins.

I do dispair at the negativity of Spurs fans in general.

So, you missed Lennons shot where he was 1 on 1 with Foster, that he briliantly saved, or Bents shot that Foster saved with legs, or Pavs free header that he should of at least hit the target from.

Missing Berbatov, Rooney, Carrick et el, but still have Ferdinand, Ronaldo, Scholes, Tevez, I could go on and on and on......................
We were missing Keane, Defoe, Palacios, Woodgate et el, so had a weak strike force and still create of the top of my head, 3 clear cut chances.

Can't we just accept that even though we lost, it was a good performance and unlucky that we lost, to whoever had the technique and bottle to the luck of a penalty shoottout.

Gutted, but sang the whole game in the brikies, then afta and then on the train to liverpool street. Today just prooved to me that we have brilliant fans, even when we loose in a final, we still sing our hearts out, absolutely brilliant.

its lovely to see a post that actually says about being proud of the club and our players instead of slagging them off every second.
i am very proud. they played brilliantly and out played man u at times as well. we just didn't have what was needed up front. we really missed Keane i personally think.

But even though we lost, after the way they played, i won't be feeling ashamed of them at all.

COYS!

I think JJ had a good game, he's not had the best of seasons, but i've always been a fan, and he's unfairly treated at times (by our fans at least). The player I feel sorry for most is acutally Daws, I've been critical of him before but he turned out a blinder today, or whole defence infact were brilliant. BEA BRING BACK THE AFRO :eek:mg:

Also, anyone else disappointed by the set pieces today? Given JJ's cross in the last final, I wanted him to be more involved but it seemed to be Luka every time.

To be honest mate, the majority of the posts are actually rather positive towards Spurs' performance. Yes, sets of fans have their characteristics but I don't think being overwhelmingly negative is unique to Spurs, in fact I don't think we're overwhelmingly negative at all, there just happen to be a few miserable sods!
