that the supporters trust and the club decided that the solution to our playing crisis was to have and old spurs team play vs this current 11. these were the lineups

Old Spurs

Robinson
Walker ------Dawson---King--------BAE
Modric------Jenas
Sherwood----VDV---------Bale
Crouch

Current Spurs Hugo
Dier------Kaboul----Verts-----Rose
Capoue----Dembele
Lamela-----Eriksen------Chadli
Adebayor

the game started off with the old spurs coming out of the blocks fast and sweaty. VDV being his usual self, modric dictating play and running rings around capoue and dembele. and within the first 15 mins they scored. It was a beautiful passing move. modric playing a first time ball to bale, who was already charging down the wing blowing past rose, hitting a cross to crouch who knocked it down to VDV and he slotted it home with a first time finish.

Our current boys tried to come back but you could see they were hit hard mentally but they kept doing what they needed to do. they kept pushing on. passing from side to side, being patient, trying to open us up but narrowing the play way too much. their best chance came from a counter. jenas got robbed by lamela who passed it to eriksen in the centre but the adebayor completely messed up the shot. it hit his shin and went out for a goal kick.

Current Spurs did come back though in about the 65th minute. a blast from dembele from the top of the 18 yard box levelled it up. to make it 1-1. it was a close game now with both Old Spurs and Current Spurs looking for a winner. Sherwood got replaced in the 80th minute after getting a yellow by arguing with the referee that the ball went off dembele for a throw. so the manager subbed him and brought on Ginola, who went to the left and bale went to the right.

The Old Spurs breakthrough came in the 88th minute when crouchy got on to a cross by VDV of all people and scored a header. Climbed all over Verts and put it in the "V". Lloris had no chance. So the game was done. 2-1 to Old Spurs. But before the players went off the field, VDV was given a mic. and he told everyone to stay in their seats and he started to give a speech. This is what he said

"In football, passion is not only about putting your 100% in every tackle. its about being aware, having your head in the game. not drifting. at the end of the day. you all are tottenham hotspur's expression at the moment. and you should be focusing on being the best you can be. because that is what the fans of this club as well as yourselves deserve. Be true to yourself and believe in your abilities. you are not arsenal, you are not barcelona. stop trying to emulate them and just be yourselves. play your own brand of football. because it is a good brand. you lost today not because you arent good. but because you dont take the game by the scruff of the neck and trust in one another completely. football is a game of trust and belief. you have those you can do anything."

after that the players were told to stand up, and you could see some of them were shaken and some (dembele, and Kaboul) were visibly in tears. Chadli ran up to embrace VDV as the fans started to roar. the belief around spurs was back. the speaker system started to play this video
as white and blue balloons were released....

then I woke up.
i need to stop eating so much before bed.

Why waste time on this? Don't you realise Judy Murray was knocked out of Strictly tonight?

The problem with your dream is that the old spurs are playing 4231.
It'd be a tedious 0-0 if both teams did that.

That's a pretty detailed dream and quite unrealistic even by dream standards. I mean come on, VDV was still on the pitch in the 88th minute?

"Old Spurs Team"...you must be very young. Most of that team is still actually playing. I was expecting Mackay, Greaves, Ardiles, Hoddle, Gazza, Lineker...to name but a few!

I had a dream last night that Greg Edwards - the capital radio soul/jazz funk DJ from the 70's/80's - was riding as a domestique in the Tour De France to try and overcome his alcohol and drug addiction, but created confusion because he insisted on wearing his yellow football shirt (not sure what team but looked like the old pin striped Liverpool away kit from the eighties).

Seems like more of a non sexual fantasy although maybe it was sexual, was there a happy ending? Was the release of the balloons a metaphor? Actually, don't answer any of that you sick, sick man. :stop:
