We could be in worse shape! The only thing seriously lacking from our game is creativity in the middle 3. We've got two bright prospects in for that job in Holtby and Eriksen. It may take some time, but I think our season will come down to whether one or both of the fellows measure up to the task. We are fine everywhere else, even left back.

You forgot lamela. Maybe we can mould him into CAM and keep lennon/townsend competing for the right. There is a huge responsibility on his and Eriksen's shoulders now. Being honest, don't have faith in holtby.

If Lamela can play at the role, great! I'm viewing Holtby as a new signing - he may yet come good. I think Siggy has been given plenty of chances, personally. Anyway, we've got options, all unproven, but good prospects.

Holtby and Eriksson could be our new Modric and VDV.. Lamela the new Bale.. Townsend the new Lennon..

We're in good shape, the window has closed, this is our team until Jan now, lets get these guys settled, and get behind them. I'm positive this team is gonna start to kick ass very soon.

Just what I was about to say - Lamela can play left, right or behind the striker, and in fact I think he himself prefers the No. 10 role.

I think we'll see Holtby playing better this season, if he gets enough game time, which obviously isn't assured. He didn't get enough time last season, he's young, moving to a new country, new team, etc. - hopefully he gets a chance to show more this season.

They're two of the top prospects in world football for their age group. If only one of them makes it we're in for a treat.

I think there's enough creativity in our squad Holtby Erikson Sigdursson Chadli Lamela even Adebayor and Dembele on form, directness with Townsend and Lennon and lots power we have a good squad just needs time.

Eriksen - Holtby - Lamela. These three behind Soldado aren't the best in the league, but they've certainly got the potential to be.

I would say only Arsenal, Chelsea and City are better in these three roles and we're better than Arsenal in other areas. Top four is more than on

Don't write off these 2 young men, they're very good. Lamela isn't as creative as a passer but he's got excellent feet. He can play behind the striker but is much better on the wide right coming in onto his left foot.

I think we'd find our most creative side in playing Eriksen, Holtby and Lamela in front of 2 of our powerhouses.

I'm sure it will be. Trust me, Holtby Eriksen and Lamela is the one. I'm happy with this window, I would be worried if I was a United fan. As for everyone worrying about our full backs - it's a good job we've got the best keeper in the league then isn't it!

Good thing about this is they can all score, if you add Paulinho as one of the dm he's also a goal threat, and Capoue has scored a few goals in France and even Sandro has scored a couple long range shots.

Our depth is looking good with Chadli/Lennon/Townsend for the wide players. Ade/Defoe to rotate with Soldado for certain games. Sig and Dembele will also add to the depth in midfield.

Can't complain about our first 11 and squad. Definitely stronger than last season, will just need some time to gel.

So excited about Ericksen, I think he's going to be brilliant. Lewis will be like a new signing, first proper full season with us, he looked great the the other night in the EL.

Agreed. If you look at the fact that our bench could include Chiriches, Dawson, Capoue, Dembele, Lennon, Townsend, Chadli, Defoe and Adebayor then that's as good as any in the league really. Lacking in quality full back options but other than that a really solid bench!

Erik Lamela started life as a No.10, Eriksen is a No.10, Holtby has played no.10

Im worried for holtby.

He is so talented, great attitude and a hard worker but i have a feeling that avb simply dont rate or trust him very much.

I have no doubt that he will be a top player when given a chance, but i worry that we will ruin his development by not playing him, and i would be gutted if thats the case cause i like him as both a player and person.

Hopefully im wrong and avb have big plans for him.

(gylfi on the other hand is proper fucked, he will be lucky to see the odd el league game)
