While I was watching the video of the ITV highlights this evening, aside from all the goosebumps at reliving the goals, I noticed that yesterday's final had several similarities with the 1991 FA Cup Final.

First, we went behind to a first half free kick in a game we were controlled and should have been leading by half time.

We then scored a second half equaliser to take the game into extra time.

And then we scored an extra time winner via an extremely fortunate headed goal.

Lastly, and wonderfully, our long serving centre back went up to lift the trophy.

Of course, a memorable win over Arsenal got us to the final in the first place too!

Slight difference: our great striker in '91 missed a penalty whereas our current one scored it!

And no star player got an early injury and had to be stretchered off.

You could say but this time that "scorer" wasn't their star defender
