I think these are up this year -

I think keeping Bale will tie in with this and I would expect a big increase in the £15m pa we currently get.

Is it this season? Levy must have been holding out in the hope of a CL based bargaining position. Would also explain why our new shirt hasn't surfaced yet

Yes, I agree plus I think re signing Bale makes good business sense.

Not sure whether a shirt plus stadium joint deal may delay things (we agreed a one year extension last year)

Probably BT.

Infact........*wheels go round in my head*......if Bale commits to the club I wonder if we will do a deal with BT for the stadium and shirts :cautious:

Would BT be allowed to sponsor us, given they are making serious moves into sport's broadcasting? I'm sure the other clubs wouldn't be happy with it.

I seem to remember NTL sponsoring a bunch of teams when they tried to buy football. Also don't sky sponsor Juve?

Funnily enough I imagined a similar situation to this.

I doubt it, I personally can't see the point in trying to negotiate a naming rights tie in for the current stadium because it would just create bad blood and ill will with a section of the supporter and the media take up may be negligible, like the sportsdirect.com @ St James' Park Stadium.

One thing to admire about Arsenal is that their commercial department is fantastic, by naming Ashburton Grove as the Emirates before the keys had been handed over, let alone a ball being kicked they got huge impact, a near 100% media uptake of the name and little if any fan resistance.

Yes I remember NTL but not sure they were regarded as a big player when it came to broadcasting, especially football.

I don't know at all whether it is allowed, I just can't imagine it going down to well. I think there would be concerns about influence etc, such as the scheduling of games for TV.

I guess we would just have to be sponsored by a different arm of Bt like "BT Broadband" or something like that.

The difference is that NTL was only a platform whereas BT like Sky are both Platform and Broadcaster.

Barcodes wereNTL's jewel in their sponsorship, northern rock took over when virgin purchased ntl so hard to say if there were any issues.
i'm sure sky would be straight to court though.....
