I think they are good players, but once again not top notch. Maybe they will improve more but I can't see them being better than the options we have already. Will they make the first team? I am not so sure. So, we have lots of 'very good players' but only a sprinkling of star dust. That is the gene pool I would rather increase.

I know we have to face reality over who we can bring in because Tim Sherwood screwed up last season for us (dig, dig), but it is depressing all the same.

Surely he did hear of Modric and the "gentlemen's agreement" he had with Levy. It means jack in reality. It's what's on paper that counts.

Only issue is the transfer request, it seems. Big money involved to the player but should not be to Levy. However we have seen with Dawson and Ade that Levy does not like picking up other people's tabs.

I'd love to see him sign, along with Rodrigez but I don't think it will happen now. It's all very well people dismissing the Saints' chairman's assertion that they won't be sold as some sort of bargaining chip but you have to remember this guy has already sold the rest of his key players, so that has to stop somewhere. He said they stayed quiet because they were driving up the prices, so I don't see why he would now speak publicly now and then sell either or both of these players.
After all, it's not like we're Real Madrid offering a world record transfer fee.
