I mean I can’t see us having issues meeting the demands especially if Marseille can.
No idea on source but the journalists are Ukrainian so maybe they have inside track from players side.

Still think this guy is a back up option to other preferred targets. Maybe that’s why we are “having issues to meet the price”. We are stalling.

So the issue is, Spurs want Malinovskyi on loan, but possibly Marseille looking to buy him outright...
And the player wants us....

And he's clearly a back up option or we'd of already pulled the trigger.

And Marseille are probably his back up option.

So we drag out the negotiations whilst FP is getting his ducks/plates lined up lol.

Not sure what the issue is then. They give us him for free and we say thank you and we will be back in a year for their next best player on a favorable loan/buy option.

Could be same situation as the Bastoni one, that Conte want Zaniolo and is willing to have a short term solution to have a go again on main target next summer.

What happened to the war chest? If we don't think this guy is worth paying for, then perhaps we'd be better off with other targets. Unless that target is Dan James, in which case, stick with what we've got.

Are we skint?

The players we want shifted are only out on loan and no guarantee a fee will be paid at the end of it. I guess we only want another loan option so we sent too stocked with players/wages again.

If he has only got 1 year left on his contract why would they loan him, senseless.
If we want him we are going to have to pay a fee.

I'm sure we'd be happy to pay a reasonable loan fee (I don't know what that would be, maybe £5m?) , we just don't want to saddle ourselves with 4-5 year contract for a 29 year old.

From Atalanta's point of view, it may be a case of either taking the loan fee now or lose him for nothing at the end of the season.

If we'd got permanent deals done for N'Dombele and GLC then I'd imagine we could sign him on a permanent. If we bought him outright and then had them both come back for whatever reason I imagine the wage bill might be quite draining.

I have a feeling we just want him as a stop gap and then buy a longer term target in the Summer or see how Gil is progressing.
Yeah, this signing would make far more sense as a loan. He's the type of player, like Lenglet, who is ideal cover for this season, but could end up clogging up the squad and blocking potential star signings down the line if we signed him on a perm.
