I just hope he doesn't ask to leave at the end of the season, especially if he keeps this kind of form up, he'll be well sought after at this rate. How quickly football can change, a month ago he was out in the cold not even getting a chance to lace up a pair of boots, now a month later he is one of the top premierships marksmen.

I'm pleased for Pav and us he found the net today because he missed some sitters.

You can't even blame ring rust or anything he was piss poor until he scored but that said he is paid to score goals and today lucky for us he did.

Woo Super Pav! he is the new Andy Cole :-D

Sounds more like Defoe today, he didn't exactly do much apart from score from half a yard, but he is a striker, so he did his job.

It was a keeper error, BUT, if you happen to catch the side view of that shot, the bottom dropped out and it dropped about a foot right in front of the keeper. That was the only reason it squirted under the keeper. Nice strike Pav.

BB it just would'nt be you if you were not having a sly dig at pav in your praise of him eh..... Oh well at least you are beginning to praise him now unlike earlier on in this thread. Have some good rep for that young man.

p.s. Can you wipe off my fine for the late dvd returns last week....?
Lol thank you for noticing! I am a Fan of Pav, I so wanted him to do well when we first signed him, But I'm not blind in my praise for him.

He should have had 4 or 5 today! that really would have made a statement.

What if We had conceded 2 more goals? would we still be praising pav as much? he for me still has a lot of work to do.

----
also I've recently left Blockbuster's! but I'm sure if your nice when you go in and speak calming and ask nicely if you may have your late fee wiped off they will i know i was a sucker for nice people!!
although they might offer u a rental deal where u get a 4-4-£10 instead of paying the late fee?

He was poor in the first half. Two very good chances missed, poor touch, though lots of effort.

In the second half there was continued effort, a great first touch, good link up play with the midfield, two goals (one more missed sitter in between) and almost a hatrick but for the fact that Chris Samba is taller than my house.

The amount of open goals, and i mean wide open bloody goals Defoe has missed this season is a joke. Pav misses a few chances and gets ridiculed. Defoe can swan in and out of games, score a brace and be a hero.

This is no criticism of Defoe, just a bit of equality from you nutters wouldnt go a miss.

Pav really wasn't great in the first half and obviously improved in the second, but when you watch him throughout matches his positioning is fantastic. He has that instinctive knowledge of where he should be. If Defoe had that he would be unstoppable!

Pav can't be dropped on this form and I just wish Lennon was playing because the service he would be getting from both flanks would be scary.

In all honesty, I think we'd have the best wide players in the prem. Can't think any other team that has players as good as Bale and Lennon on their flanks?

I see a lot of similarities between Bent and Pav. Both will score goals, and in comparison they both seem pretty useless at everything else.

I thought Pav played well all game. He's giving a lot of effort and getting into good positions a lot. Sure he fluffed a couple, but who doesn't, some were still claiming Robbie Keane was the messiah at the beginning of the season regardless of worse misses. He can improve and I hope he does.

I'm sorry, but that's not true. Pav might be lazy, but he makes clever runs when we have the ball, and his technique is solid. He's got a footballing brain and technical reportoire that Bent (a much better athlete) does not. And frankly Defoe is not of a radically different order to either player.

exactly, these Pav/Bent comparisons are obviously from people who have no football knowledge.

Bent is a straight up way your facing striker who offers nothing outside the box, if you think this is Pav then there is nothing for you here...

Pav was great today, makes it 5 goals in the last 3 premiership games, talk about a player that's in form. The better he does the more you wonder WTF Redknapp was playing at!

Last week he was a bit clumsy and this week he did fluff quite a few chances. He probably should have controlled the chance he had when he went for the chip then blasted it (fantastic defending BTW). There were other times where he could have taken an extra touch to give himself a better ball to hit

Yeah, and he scored 2 goals, let's lynch the lad for missing a few efforts like some are, its not like Crouch, Keane and Defoe would miss is it.

I agree though on Harry, still, he's shown him what he is capable of, if he continues like this then Harry has no valid reason to drop him other than injury.

No need to get defensive with me, Fazza, I've been one of Pav's biggest proponents for ages. It's only fair that I critisise him when he could do better, I would do it for Crouch so why not Pav? If I didn't, I'd be no better than the members who criticised Bent or Keane for everything but gave Defoe a pass.

The bottom line is he should have done better last week and this week and wouldn't we all prefer a Pav who's making the most of all the chances he has?

Fazza please grow up, who wants to lynch Pav? Constructive criticism is just that, Pav's playing well but he's not infallible and people are allowed to say so. Why go on about our other strikers when this is the Pav thread?

You know if this wasn't a Spurs forum I'd swear that you support individual players over the team...

dude, they are nothing a like. Bent has the ball control of a blind crippled nun and Pav is technically very good. His all round game is very good including link up play. Bent is a miley. Kick forward and run miles.

Pav is technically better than Bent and links play better; however Bent has a strange ability to always be in the right place at the right time which is something you can't teach.

Both players have poor first touches tho costing them a few chances

Oh shut up Steve, i've seen loads of Pav bashing in my time here, when he wasn't even playing, How dare you accuse me of supporting players other than the team, i've been a fan for 20 years, my dad is a fan, my now deceased grandad lived by the ground and was a fan for many many years.

I can see why Kezza decided to take a break from this place when there are people like you running around.
