Tuttomercato is a clickbait site like FansFC and Fichajes.net

I hope Spurs Community is not going to be filled with this sort of crap over the summer. It is bad enough that the BBC and Sky will be trying to derail us with idle gossip but hopefully our own fans will not do the same.

Agreed. Obviously it's the call of those who run things, but the increase in utter bullshit stories appearing has been stark over the past year or so. Is it worth banning certain outlets or types of story? It's the rule in Transfer Rumours, only reputable outlets/quotes, so why wouldn't there be an even harsher regs for homepage? Is this a search win for the site?

I know it's harder as websites race to the bottom, and even The Telegraph is acting like the Metro, but when has Tuttomercato ever been right? They are pretty much the most singled out outlet on F365's Mediawatch for unashamedly making stuff up. Also the knock-on effect sees pretty much every British outlet now using them as a source, to justify their "scoops".

But to put it into context, Goal.com, not exactly the fountain of knowledge, is the 512th biggest site on the web; Tuttomercato is 9,525th, with 82% Italian readership, 1.1% in the UK and 0.9% in Spain. Why would an Italian website have the scoop on the move of a British player to a Spanish team? Short answer: they wouldn't.

I take none of the rumours from those "serious" sites serious either. Some times the "shit" sites have more "interesting" rumours than the so called "established" sites. All of them have more or less the same amount of correct guesses anyway.
And it's not as if our transfer discussions are going to change who Poch wants anyway ;)
So, no, I don't get railed up reading such non-sense rumours and they are all clickbait after all. I just laugh at the really ridiculous ones.

I ask again why this transfer trivia on the front page?
I'm banned from the ITK and transfer forums
for lack of respect apparently
so please put it all on there.

Increased interest ? Whats that, phoned and asked for his availability twice now instead of once ?

After a great season many of our players are attractive. New TV deal should ensure that even if this bullshit story is genuine, Levy can can simply say "No" , which is a brilliant word and understood by most of the non English speaking world.

"Interesting" stories are more "interesting" because they won't happen. It's a growing societal problem that the truth is too dull for the modern person, we're all apathetic twats, and websites hungry for clicks are only more than happy to make shit up to lull our tapping fingers out of their stupor.

I don't think we should encourage it on the whole, as bullshit begets more bullshit, but I just don't get why these kind of links are banned in Transfer Rumours – which is the place to discuss this kind of thing, the clue is in the title – but allowed free rein on the front of the site, which seems to give them more credence than they deserve.

But hey, I don't make the rules.

What the media don't understand is to sell Alli means the end of a concept -a philosophy -a developing story
Alli is not just Alli - he represents the future of our club
So the media can f.. off

The media sells papers, views, clicks.

That is their no1 priority, above all else.

tuttomercato is essentially a site that makes shit up. It has an average of 20 articles an hour, and essentially is a click bait site.

Metalhead

But that's a debate for another thread.....

"Yet, if Tottenham agreed to negotiate for a lower amount, Perez will surely be ready to bring the England international."
I think that the above line from the article was more annoying than the article itself. Why the %$^&* would Spurs agree to negotiate for a lower amount? Obviously the article is completely questionable but given Levy's well known reputation for tough negotiation, stating that is just making a mockery of the article.

And if RM is willing to sell Bale for 20 million pounds, surely Levy will buy.:)
