Agree. It was similar to the penalty Newcastle got when Dier was pushed.I can’t see how any sensible person can penalize someone for handball when it obviously came about because they where pushed.

I usually pick Bentancur MOM because he’s simply our best player game after game but tonight I gave it to Kane. I thought he battled all through that second half. He kept the pressure on them continuously. He could have easily had a hat trick if the ball had ran more kindly for him. That’s the sort of performance I want to see from him in must win games.

Lloris did everything he needed to do.

First half no one covered themselves in glory and there were some particularly poor performances from Son and Moura, these guys need to do so much better when we are under pressure not give it straight back.

Second half inspired by Bentancur, and I thought Bissouma, we got into the game. Lenglet great goal and did well even with a couple of shakey moments.

Right side defence still not functioning and Dier Emerson were extremely lucky to escape from sleepy defending at the end that should have seen us out.

Moura never improved while Kane had a good energetic second half. Great energy and shot from PEH was important to get us top spot even if I didn’t think he was at his best.

Bentancur racks up another MOTM

I opted for Team effort – thought they played with fear in that first half and, I'll be honest, wasn't sure I could see us coming back into it. But they played with balls in that second half and could have wrapped the game up before the last minute. Individually, Bentancur stood out, but I can't fault a single player in that second half.

Emerson needs a shout out- he contributed to the positive start in the second half which gave others a positive vibe. For me he was my second half MOTM-yes, others are better players but he showed lots of energy and a will to get forward. Brilliant .

He may it get wrong time to time but he takes ownership of his game, he doesn’t hide.

Crazy tactics to put Sess on the right.

Lucas was appalling.

We were so, so passive it was embarrassing.

With Emerson on, we looked so much better. He may not be the perfect player, but he does have his qualities - I hope people recognise that he does have his uses.

Bentancur was brilliant.

Kane was classy.

Great game, great atmosphere, disaster averted and a great result. What a relief.

Bentancur and PEH joint MotM for me, Went for PEH for the sheer desire to get forward for the winner after a gruelling and physical 95 mins, and only a couple of minutes after a painful ankle turn.

Gil would pose more threat than Lucas on the right, while maintaining the same work rate. Lucas has been really poor recently.

Sess 4 Shocking performance. Could never sort his feet or position out for tackles on the right side. He looks so worried all the time?

Bentancur 9 Outstanding 2nd half propelling the team forward. Hope he is not injured
PEH 7 Great finish has improved his rating, otherwise forgettable performance
Moura 3 His touch was completely off tonight. Lost possession repeatedly. Cannot understand why he wasn't replaced by Gil earlier?
Kane 8 Good 2nd half performance. Showed quality and fighting spirit
Son 3 I'm unsure if I've ever seen him play worse with little hight or confidence. Lost possession repeatedly
Bissouma 6 Solid. Needs to move the ball forward more often
Royal 7 Good defensively. Certainly not 'in his shell' as Sess appeared to be

Son , did we bring back his twin from South Korea. Looked scared before he got hurt. Playing like a naive 20 year old apart from the odd spell. He’ll get it back but something is wrong.
Massive amount of character these last 3 games. Need to work out how to start games and we’ll be dangerous.

Let them play, tire them out false sense of superiority then whack 'em.

Went for team effort as it was a complete change of mind set and attitude.
Sess poor (5) especially early doors
Everybody except Hugo loses a point for first half lack of effort and poor passing and ball retention.

Bentancur was brilliant but Hojbjerg never gave up either.
Bents drive us on but PEH scored a beauty and very nearly did it a few minutes earlier with his shot against the bar.
It's a close call between the two for me but Rodders probably edged it.

Special mention to Royal too because for all the grief he gets, I actually like him and thought he played well.

He was really good showing for the ball, moving it on, and disrupting things on defense. Hojberg made a number of lung-busting full pitch runs even before the final one where he scored. I also didn't remember being impressed by Kane watching live, but on the rewatch I was. A real battling performance while isolated and was a couple lucky bounces away from scoring a couple; really put himself about and intelligently drew fouls. I voted Bentancur for MOTM because he was immense - such a spark and created at least three of our best attacks. But, a number of players had really good showings in that second half. Now to do it for more than 45 minutes...

Putting Bissouma on allowed Bentancur and PEH to get forward more and support the front line. It's not just a defensive move to play 3 in CM and in our current situation it's a no brainer. Without Bissouma on, I doubt PEH makes that final run and winning goal.
