Fair result in my opinion. I would have taken a draw playing against the currently best team in the world at their ground before kickoff.

Every defender was superb overall. Romero had an awful first half but back to his dominant self in the second. Davies with some sloppy passes in the first, yet defending heroically in the second.

Dier won so many headers today.

Nice assist by Sessegnon.

I think I have to give MOTM to Royal. By far his best game for us, but was not just good relative to his own performances, he was genuinely excellent.

Davies for me. That block was epic.

Whole back line was decent. Look forward to sessegnon getting a run of injury free games. I think he'll be very good. Was a clever sub taking him off, as up against salah on a yellow was asking for trouble

Royal had a good game. Still a bit ropey forward bit that's being picky.

Little shout to the subs. Bergwijn sanchez and winks for their cameos did well.

Close call between all 3 CBs and both WBs for Motm. Romero played a few really bad passes in the 1st half but was pretty good defensively and was outstanding defensively 2nd half. Davies was solid all game and that block on Salah. Dier was faultless. Royal was fabulous defensively but still a bit ropey going forward, Sess not only gave nothing to Salah, he got an assist with a one touch unselfish pass.

So Sess for me.

I gave it to Dier
he organized everyone- you could see him encouraging others etc
he won just about everything that came his way and kept it simple
shout-out to Emerson, defending was very good against one of the best teams in the world- what a shame his crossing was poor
Take the draw- hope e arse mess up their next game

Defenders and Lloris (one throw aside) were really good.

Bentancur and Højbjerg did well against probably the best 3 man CM in Europe, but neither was really good.

Son and Kulusevski worked really hard. I think Kulusevski was brilliant the first 50 mins.

Kane was ok, nice work for the goal. But he’s had a dip in form the last 4 or 5 games and seems easier to dispossess.

Romero, Davies and Kulu were my outstanding picks, although Royal was very good (even if he still cannot pick a cross).

Don’t care. Going Royal.

special mention to the back three. Absolute bodies on the line

sessengon kept soul glow quiet in the main.

most did their job pretty well. Kane seemed scared of VVD?

Really pleased to go for Royal... He has taken a lot of abuse lately, not all of it deserved. Hope his performance today, influences his game on Thursday.

Not sure how you can say that after that pass to Kane that lead to the goal. He put in a couple of other good crosses as well.

All of the back five were tremendous, Romero and Davies a bit loose with possession in the first half. Collectively they snuffed out Liverpool with their chances being from set pieces and a big deflection. Sess had a hell of a game keeping Salah quiet and so calm on the assist. Royal and Dier almost faultless, Royal gets my MOTM.

Bentancur and PEH battled hard with great energy and discipline. What PEH thought he was doing with the header at the end god only knows. Kulu showed he is up for a battle and worked hard.

Son and Kane had to live off scraps but did it well. Credit to Conte game plan and executed well.

Top team effort and with a bit of luck we win that game.

Overall I think we did ourselves proud and the players left everything on the pitch so zero complaints but it was more of a spirited performance than a high quality one. We were actually pretty sloppy on the ball for much of the game, but we ran our bollocks off and, when they weren't passing it to the opposition, the defenders did some fantastic defending.

I think our wing backs did especially well. I think Royal has a little bit of Sissoko syndrome at the moment - when he has an above average game everyone is so surprised that they say he's the second coming - but he did do well and it was probably his best game for us. Sess is also improving game on game and his composure for the assist was fantastic. Not sure if Reguilon gets that pass right.

Think everyone put in at least a 6-7/10 performance and there were some top defensive performances in there, but we probably needed a couple more 8s and 9s from our attackers to win the thing.

Put in two horrendous crosses when we were in good positions to score, the one that was overhit that went to sessegnon shortly after we scored being one of them.

Think Emerson was very good today and well deserving of praise but at the same time his delivery was still lacking on most of the openings he had. A more creative RWB could have created better openings there.

He stood out today because he was able to do more of the defensive side of the game. He dealt with all of that very well.
