Everybody else who finished the match - 8/10

Romero and Udogie - 2/10

Van de Ven and Maddison, no ratings but just begging for the injuries to not be too bad.

Vicario was amazing in the circumstances. Couple of stupid bits of play and some iffy reffing / cost us the game we had that. Gutted.

Vic by a mile. Whisper it but I quite liked Dier's contribution as well, really unlucky to be offside for what would've been a beautiful goal.

Vic: 10. A truly staggering performance.

Pedro: 7. Still prone to the odd cock-up but his enthusiasm helps us so much.
Micky: Please don't be dead/10.
Cuti: 3. You've literally won a World Cup mate; I know this is who you are and it's what makes you good but this keeps fucking happening, and we need you to be smarter.
Udogie: 2. Young, dumb, and full of chutzpah, but set us on course for that.

Bissouma: 6. Wasn't one of his best nights but hardly his fault.
Sarr: 8. He's so, so good.

Brennan: ? You'll get your chance to shine soon son.
Deki: 7. Works so hard every week.
Madders: Please don't be dead/10.

Son: 7. Hard to really judge this one; worked hard, but how fairly can you judge a CF when you're down two men?

Subs:
Eric: 8. Thought he was tremendous.
Hojbjerg: 7. An enigma, but I still think he has something to offer.
Skipp: 6. Again, tried very hard.
Rodrigo: Just nice to see his face again.
Emerson: 7. Impressed. Usually does, to be fair.

Yeah. This is fair.

My main feelings are proud of those who stayed on and played.

Sympathy for VDV and Maddison, and to a lesser extent Johnson, who looks good.

And frustration and annoyance with Udogie and Romero. You could see those reds coming a mile off, and that’s being kind.

That’s where we needed a firmer captain than Son. Someone who could have got the team together, calmed them down, and just played our game.

That’s a good performance but a big loss against (what are now) a too 4 rival

Udogie could have been sent off in the first half. I feel the referees didn't get anything major wrong, really, we might feel we were hard done by, but we shot ourselves in the foot this game. I feel 11v11, we would go on to win the game.

Agree on Oliver, not on big calls, but some seriously bad refereeing generally, especially on 1st half before equalizer. WTF was that? Romero was reckless, but Oliver losing his whistle had a lot to do with that
So many fouls from behind in the first half Oliver let go, beyond a joke in the end.

Overall, I am not concerned; this team seems pretty resilient, and I expect they will respond over the weekend. I hope the injuries aren't that bad going forward, as our squad is rather thin. Even with the boys doing well off the bench, you can still see the drop in quality when they are on the ball.

Whilst I agree to a point with fand not wanting to sound bitter and blame the officials it's also fair to discuss the officiating and its impact on both dismissals.
Both were deserved in their own right, but could also have not happened if the officiating was better.
Romeros red, deserved for the tackle, but irrelevant if the referee or VAR spot Sterlings blatant dive. (It was nearly as obvious as Bissoumas)
Udogie red, deserved for the tackle, but Udogie would possibly not have needed to make the tackle if we had 11 men as the pattern of the game might have been different.
Reece James lack of Red card. If given, and it should have been, could have totally changed the pattern of the game. Again, this potentially would have meant Udogie not needing to make the tackle.

Anyway, ratings.......
Vicario 10, outstanding from him
Kulu 8.5, absolutely ran his socks off
Everyone else 8
Romero 2, Udogie 3 but both could have scored higher and not been sent off with better officiating

Also, despite how good we've been this season, that was my favourite performance.

I was at the game tonight and just loved how the atmosphere was better throughout the whole 90 than most games we’ve won over the last few years.

Vicario is superb. Eric Dier played well. Sarr was full of running. Porro full of beans. Bissouma a bit off. Less said about Romero and Udogie the better. I genuinely think we would’ve battered them without the sending off. I think we still would’ve won with 10 had Micky and Maddison stayed on.

Knew hard times would come at some point. Didn’t realise we’d get smacked around the face in quite so many ways at once, but if we were looking for a test of where we’re at as a squad, then the next few weeks should tell us everything we need to know.

Vic clearly MoM but I actually voted team effort, as those 9 nine lads put in an amazing shift.

My big worry is the loss of VdV. His pace is the main reason we can play such a high line.
