Given the lack of game time they've had, I would vote for Palacios and Krancjar for joint MOM. Both pretty darn good given their restricted opportunities thus far. Just a shame Bale's cross didn't reach Keano. I would have loved to see him score again before Harry ushers him out of the exit door.

Gomes 6 - Incredibly erratic again. Slight absolution from being able to make spectacular saves. Dismal for the pen re-take.

Ekotto 6 - Workmanlike. Completely adrift for Rosales's headed 2nd.
Gallas 6 - Composed without being outstanding
Bassong 6 - A decent display with focus and effort
Corluka 7 - Determined, focused and worked well with Lennon when he came on. Looked back to his best.

Bale 6 - Always a threat with his pace, power and crossing
Jenas 6 - Industrious but some wasteful speculative passing
Palacios 6 - Poor choice for Defoe's goal that came right, but then he did win the chance. Usually did his job without too many foul-ups
Kranjcar 6 - A fish out of water on the right. Much more purposeful in the centre

Defoe 7 - Penalty box finishing from a top level striker
Pav 6 - Some good runs and penetrating shooting

Lennon 7 - A big difference when he came on. Superb vision for Defoe's goal. Poor choice of pass when he broke impressively 2nd half.
Keane 5 - Anonymous
Crouch n/a.

Only got up to page 2 but as usual BC ratings are spot on

90% of the rating in these thread are shite its like people are making their ratings based on the heart and not what they saw

Pav impressive, Charlie and lennon link up play good ? WTF:shrug:

Swear to god pavlyuchenko could be on the bench for the whole match and still get a 7+ rating from you guys

I finally got around to looking at some posts about the Twente match and although I only viewed the first page I can't believe how Benny is getting away without getting stick.

As a team I thought we gave the ball away more than I can remember in a long while.
Benny managed to be the worst of the bunch by giving the ball away almost every time.

Another thing that bugs the life out of me is that so many of the goals we give away is from his position.
He didn't even make a challenge for their headed goal!!!!!
He does this time after time and seems to pick and choose when he wants to make the effort.

As for the penalty perhaps harsh but here's an idea.... Man up and take it in the face.
Of course it'll hurt but there's no penalty and no goal!!

When he wants to make the effort he can look pretty tidy but most of the time he's an accident waiting to happen and quiet frankly not good enough!!

I'm not Ekotto's biggest fam and I know he humped away some balls but part of the problem was the movement of players around him. Ekotto made 41 accurate pases form 61 touches of the ball. 61 touches of the ball is incredibly high for a LB. Ferriera's stats for chelsea away at Marseille were 24/28. A good percentage of completion, but if he were forced to deal with the ball 61 times because the players around him were exposing him as much as Bale, Pav, Defoe and Kranjcar were exposing Ekotto I'm not sure he would have coped any better.

Like I said, I'm definitely not Ekotto's biggest fan, but he got virtually no protection tuesday form Bale, and I was more angry with Bale's contribution than his on the night.

Sounds lovely...I hope you treat your women with a bit more respect

Had a few beers and watching Richard Pryor live in concert...quality.

On the comedy channel right now, absolute legend...I must of seen it at least a dozen times but its still brillant every single time.

Too many people have tried to copy and base their humour on Pryor, which is understandable, but in no shape or form can they carry it off with the same effect.

That clip you posted has just happened on the comedy channel!

Stewart Lee.....Identity parts 1 & 2 for me..on youtube ,his best by a mile imo....taking the piss out of the Scots...In Glasgow..:)

Anyway I'd never noticed BAE doing what he did at Twente . He had time ,he wouldn't aimlessly hit the ball upfield , no , he'd hit a direct 40 yard pass in the direction of a Spurs player who had no chance of reaching it .

In the Twente period of 2nd half pressure he put the ball straight back to them every time for about 20 minutes .He was personally responsible for a lot of that grief .

I was stunned to see this from him . He's always so diligent in defence and will dribble in our pen rather than clout the ball away aimlessly . Why he couldn't do a simple pass infield I don't know . As a big BAE fan it was a major shock to witness him making a difficult situation miles worse .

After having a pop at Benny I have to say he actually played well against Chelsea.
If he could just do that every week he could be great!

I just don't see what you do. BAE is absolutely excellent, week in, week out. Or we'd either be looking for a replacement, or dropping Bale back.

No , sometimes he has bad games . Twente was one of those where his distribution simply collapsed . Chelsea was fine .
