?

Either straight up trolling, or some more reasoned opinions are desperately needed.

Hojbjerg absolutely HAS to be upgraded.
Bentancur is a player I'm still unconvinced on. Has some nice qualities, but he a bit flakey. He's currently playing a role that demands strong defensive output, especially in the context of challenging for titles.

As I said in my original post, signing a high quality, all-round midfielder like a Ruben Neves or Milinkovic-Savic would move us much closer to potentially winning a title than spending a whopping £60m+ on competition for Kulusevski.
Lol sms would be 100m… and plays best as a 10 which we do not use.

There's no way one would join if the other was. They want to play for Brazil very soon - they desperately need minutes. There's no way they're going to do that if they're competing with our elite existing forward line AND another elite forward in the Brazil squad.

Again: improving the starting 11 should take precedence over depth alone.
Lucas is also still comically underrated by Spurs fans.

I find this interesting, you’ve just hammered Raphinha with Leeds stats, then said Lucas is “criminally underrated”. He’s scored 9 in his last 99 Premier League appearances, with the better players around him yet make no allowance for Leeds’ relegation plight, the Bamford injury etc.

So, to improve the front 3, who do you sign?

The one thing the clubs that win trophies in this country do is spend big money on forward players that are not guaranteed starters.

Anyone missing that point has a serious blind spot. True top quality depth in that area is probably why we failed to get over the line previously.

We need to compete now with Conte here. Time to get some heavyweight reinforcements in this area.

P.s. to suggest that Bissouma, Bentancur, Hojbjerg and Skipp is light for a 3-4-3 formation and a priority upgrade position is pretty nuts.

Moura is just one of those players who is decent when he comes in, has the odd moments but not someone who really will threaten for a start
Raphina will add genuine competition

No.
As far as our starting 11 is concerned, our attack is settled. Son, Kulusevski and Kane; three world class players. Raphinha does not improve our starting 11.

I agree we need depth there, especially with Bergwijn leaving. My problem is that in the midfield, we need both depth and starting 11 upgrade, therefore a big signing there should take far stronger precedence over spending £60m for freaking Raphinha.
The important thing that you seem to be forgetting is that the team will play as conte wants not le Grove stat whatever.
He doesn't play with a creative in the middle of the park he plays with cms that destroy and control the middle.
Soooo nooo we don't need the cm you want us to buy we need the cms conte wants and (here's the special bit) we now have them ?

I have nothing against him personally, he's a fine player for a top-4 challenging team, but you are kidding yourself if you think he is a title/UCL-winning level midfielder. That's just reality.

What good are his assists in the Euros to us? He only managed 2 assists for us in a full season and barely missing any minutes. You might say it's because he plays DM or whatever, but I can recall several occasions where he's struggled to keep up defensively too. He's simply a player we need an upgrade on if we want to get real about challenging.
Hes not a midfielder

Would be pretty annoying if this is the one window we go for it supposedly, and Arsenal end up spending more than us. I know it's not always how much you spend, but it's more about how it looks.
Who cares how much they spend. The only important thing is that our squad improves and we buy players that the manager wants. Fuck all the others

IMO, I would rather see that we buy cheaper talent as deph/potential competition (charles the kettle) and focus the big bucks for clear upgrades at LCB (bastoni/leipzig guy) and RWB (hakimi?). Also, I think that Raphina might be slightly overrated. Just my cents!
To be honest with you, I thought that’s what we’ve been doing over the past years and this is what is the problem with us, we have a lack of quality in our squad depth! Is this not what AC complained about when he did his initial assessment of the squad?
